  1. Totally not in a good way lol I'll have to try to change it with my advisor! I may be in the library using the computer around 12 Akilah. Come find me if you don't see me in the break area :)
  2. How did you get speech online???? I have to go to campus Thursday's, there wasn't an online choice . Yes. Off. The. Chain. Patho, 302 and 224 plus labs Carazay! I will look foryou tom Akilah! At least you can see my pic on here lol
  3. Things are good! Especially when I registered today and have just speech next term lol. January Is going to be off the chain tho! How are you doing?? Maybe we will run into each other tomorrow
  4. I hate to even post on this hot topic, but while people are on one hand complaining about the government stepping on toes and forcing us to "eat and drink" whatever you want cause the government doesn't have the right to infringe on that, while on the other hand want the government to provide care for disease that said choices have caused, it is such a contradiction.... How can we deem the government responsible for our health, and not take responsibility for it on our own. Do we really want the government ruling our eating choices, drinking choices, and all "health related" choices? That, IMO, is a direct contradiction to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" thing, and not what the writers intended, given what they had worked so hard to free the US from.
  5. @Ms-PsychD As far as GA certification, from what I understand, yes the accred. for GA won't be finalized until the first graduating class passes the NCLEX with 85 or better. however, if you graduate and pass the NCLEX, you are still a nurse :) The other schools have all not had a problem passing, the GA board does not anticipate any issues, and Chamberlain has done everything to get into their initial status so they want to be accredited... It is a bit of a risk, but I don't anticipate a problem, and I think they are doing all they can to make it happen.
  6. And keep your receipts - you can include all your school expenses on your taxes, including uniforms, shoes, etc etc etc etc etc
  7. I got my stethoscope on drugstore.com, but it's the same kind as on the Chamberlain site, the Littman. You can get any color :) Don't be nervous, it's gonna be a fun ride... aside from all the stress, homework, tests, etc LOL
  8. @Teah YES the math part is ALL fractions and percentages. Not too many ratios. And some basic conversions if I remember correctly. The fractions though, ugh! Practice tons of those - reducing, adding, etc. It was over the top on those lol!
  9. I couldn't imagine taking it online! In class is crazy awful enough :) Does your prof have office hours? Maybe you can set an appt with them on campus... Or get a study group together! I know I"m gonna probably need one of those lol
  10. @Sharieka YES! It was so nice to chat with you Thursday!!! @chrissie. O M G I am cracking up! You are SO right lol! The conversions make my brain hurt - I feel like it's just right in front of me but i can't quite grasp it! Who is your teacher? I have a stand in from GSU - she's really awesome, but chem is just NOT my thing! What time is your class? I am in Th/Fri 9-12 for chem
  11. @chrissie I have Chem tomorrow and Friday. Should I be scared?? LOL
  12. I saw your intro Sharieka :) See you tomorrow!!
  13. Yes, I am! 1-3 Thursdays... after Chem Ugh! You may be surprised about soc, I had a history class I had a D in ages ago that transferred into my GSU credits. I retook it though because it was killing my GPA!
  14. Sharieka, do you have a soc that transferred? I have to take 350 but the other I had a transfer credit for.
  15. I know, I met a whopping 2 while waiting a very long time for Student ID's! lol
  16. Are either of you on team Dorthea?? We can exchange info lol!
  17. Oh cool!! The professor seems like she is very nice from her intros, etc - Forensic Nursing sounds pretty interesting!!
  18. @MS-PsychD, from what I hear, the HESI is way less complicated than the TEAS. I never took the TEAS, but I did really well on the HESI without studying at all lol Just focus on fractions, ratios and converting measurements and you'll do fine! From what I understand, their NCLEX pass rate is better nationally averaged over their campuses (88-93% pass rate) than any GA school - I figure that since they all use the same courses that Atlanta will be no different. Good luck in your acceptance process! :) Becky
  19. @Jsayers11 Are you in 222 on Mon/Wed at 10? I think we are assigned to be in a group together for class. I saw last name Sayers in my group and thought it may be you! Becky
  20. Hi all, I am registered for NR 101 Th 1-3, NR 222 M/W 10-1 and Chem th/Fri 10-1. I figure paying all that $$, I will take 222 on site instead of online LOL I rented all of my books (except Chem) and will be spending under $200 for all 7 :) I went to bookrenter.com , and the school rental site for 2 of them that noone else had. Definitely saved a TON by renting though!! Excited to meet some of you on campus and possibly at orientation - I'll be there tomorrow 8.28 at 10am!
  21. I also tend to forget to search for Chamberlain in MO lol a lot of loans are avail for that, but not Chamberlain GA :)
  22. I'm the same way - I don't have a touching story or anything like that. I only just thought about nursing in the last 2 years. I've worked as a childbirth educator and labor doula, and that is what led me to think about nursing. I think you probably have something that led you to think about nursing, and i would just use that and talk about what qualities you have that will make YOU an excellent nurse :) We don't all have to have a feel good gushy reason to do what we do, but we all have some qualities that will make us awesome at it. Good luck!!
  23. It is hard to find ones that accept Chamberlain, and most of them run through Sallie Mae. Their website links to some banks that accept them. I know Chase and discover do not. Sometimes a co-signer can help lower the interest rate. Chamberlain has their own loan as a last resort as well... it's a higher interest rate and you have to start paying on it 30 days after starting it, but in a crunch or for bad credit, it is there :) How did you guys find out about orientation dates? I haven't received anything except a phone call a week and a half ago telling me someone would call me to register, but haven't gotten one yet...
  24. I have 2 or 3 semesters with only 9 hours - I really hope I can combine those. 1 class at a time is just silly, IMO I don't think I actually ever heard anything about the drug check - I guess no news is good news! I did have to sign some new documents, and now I'm waiting to hear back about how to register.
  25. Jsayers, I am with you - I have a few semesters with 9-12 hours, and scheduled for 2 years and 1 1/2 semesters. I'm hoping I can shorten that with more hours at the end and be done closer to 2 years! It's so much cheaper to take more hours than it is less...
