  1. I am moving to Houston. I am applying for my license initially in MI because I do not have a TX divers license yet and It was much less paperwork. Thank you for your response :)
  2. I just graduated from a BSN Nursing school in MI and will be relocating to Houston TX in the next month. I will be siting for my NCLEX in MI then applying for reciprocity for TX. It will probably be a while before I am licensed in TX. Is it possible to apply for PCA positions or Nurse extern positions just so I can work and get in with a hospital while I wait for my license to go through? I just don't want to be jobless for 4 months and I would also like to make contacts in the health world. I'm just not sure a hospital would waste time hiring me as a PCA knowing I would be an RN shortly after I was trained. Does anyone have any advice for someone in my position? Thank you in advanced for any help you can offer me!
  3. Hi Pamela! I am going to be in the exact same position as you were this coming January as I graduate mid December 2012. I will be relocating to Houston, Sugar Land to be exact to live with my boyfriend. I know that it is a little ways off but I want to start doing my research now because I want to have the best chance of getting a job. Can you tell me the specific names of some of the new grad programs you applied to and any other hospitals that you may know of that hires new grads would be much appreciated. I am willing to commute because I just want to work. Also if you could tell me how it's been going since the big move. THANK YOU! Also anyone else who has any advice for me would be greatly appreciated.
  4. I first received an acceptance email and then about 2 weeks later received the same thing by mail. On my application online it just said "decision made" in the status box but nothing about whether I was accepted or declined. I was accepted into the Jan 2012 Cohort and applied in February 2011. I did not hear anything until June 2011. Hope this is helpful :)
  5. Hey my name is Angie and I just got accepted to the January 2012 Cohort too!!! Yes I think we are all going to become pretty close next year :) Im with ya in being Super Nervous!!! Are you from Michigan originally or are you coming from out of state? I am from Michigan and graduated from MSU but have been living in Dallas TX for the past year. January is going to be a hard time for me to move back to MI lol but Im really excited to finally be starting school!!!
