What you'd REALLY like to say....
To the CNAs who get riled up because I actually go on my Lunch Break. I am not being lazy. I asked you to take your break while I watched your residents and you said you have no time so that is your own fault. And quit telling people I am being LAZY when I am on my Lunchbreak.

The NOC shift doesn't wake up ANYONE in the morning...is this normal?
a town in NM and like I said the Nurses do not help. It suppose to be 1:15 but the CNAs do all the direct care. There are 2 CNAs and 2 nurses NOC shift.

Should smokers be admitted into the nursing program?
I say weed out smokers from the nursing program because nurse smokers usually take many breaks during a shift and that isn't safe for a patient. Also nurses that smoke smell HORRIBLE!

NOC have 30 residents a piece for each (2) CNA. There are 2 nurses as well who do not help-even though administration tells them they have to. lol! NOC shift doesn't get anyone up and it is understandable. 1:30 is too much. I work 6am-2pm and we have to get up each resident 15 a piece for each (4) CNA.

L.P.N.'s NO MORE
I agree CNA pay should be as much as LPNs then maybe CNAs wouldn't quit their jobs so much.

Clovis Community College..Spring 2011
I would like to know how your classes went in A&P II and Microbiology at Clovis Community College. I am planning on taking both in the Fall 2011. Is it hard? What do I have to buy? Are the exams proctered? Are they transferable? How much $ did you spend on each class? Thank you I hope you can answer my questions.

Horrified by lazy CNA's, is this the norm?!
Yes some CNAs are lazy especially the smokers. But I love my job as the nursing home I work at. I know I do a good job and I do not leave a dirty poop butt even if I have 18 patients to care for! that is just nasty. Sadly, I do not have time to clip nails or sometimes I do not get to do my showers. Some CNAs do get annoyed by me when I tell them "This person smells of urine". I am the annoying CNA. But it is up to you to keep your residents clean and dry if it bothers you. Some CNAs probably leave a resident dirty because that is the way they are themselves.

FED UP CNAS!!!!
i love my job as a cna. at my place of work the residents are not as demanding as some nursing homes. i however do not like working with demanding nurses who pick on me because i am a "newbie" and i am "quiet" and so that is her reason for not trusting me. one particular nurse followed me around most of the shift when she should be doing her job (charting..lol) and she complains to everyone "she is not superwoman" when she doesn't even lift a finger to answer a simple call light. she has a smokers voice and is loud and is always gossiping so everyone hears her. i refuse to be a nurse's pet and it is killing her. i also don't like working with lazy cnas who complain that it isn't right to be paid so low for a hard job, when she should just do her job. i have been physically and verbally abused but usually are the ones that aren't all there. i like my job i just wish they paid me more. the residents always tell me thank-you when i tell them that it is the end of my shift. i like being on my feet all day and i like feeling like i deserve a hot meal and rest at the end of the day. i love my job and am only fed up with bossy nurses!.
