when and how do you know if your employer turned you into the BON?
Ok. Well i'm sorry. I dnt see nothing wrong with taking the PRN cough med. I do take inhalers everyday and one PRN as well. And as of taking it short enough to be in my urine...just because your urine tests positive for it doesn't mean that the person is under the influence at that time. But luckily all of this is on file when I was hired. Asthma is one of the health problems it lists and I provided them a list of all the medications i have.

It might be because the off going nurse could give you the number he/she KNOWS is in there but not what is counted on the sheet. Did i explain that to make sense?

when and how do you know if your employer turned you into the BON?
Well maybe I should have made myself clearer. I do not take it EVERY night and i do not take it for "sleep". But there are a quite a few nights that i do have to take it. I have never taken it before or while working. Never had any health problems until a year or so ago when i started.developing bronchitis back to back then pneumonia. Ever since i have had a lingering cough especially at night and asthma.

when and how do you know if your employer turned you into the BON?
Yeah i will definitely remember that next time. I just hope I didnt dig myself in deeper in the meeting. I tried to stay calm and non emotional but how can you when your LIFE and CAREER is on the line. They kept telling me to come clean it would be better. Judged my nursing practice. But i.want to know why they can do all of this with no proof? Just some statistics from a computer? And why would I EVER confess to something that i did not do! I just hope that people aren't talking about me at work and it getting out in public before i have the right to fight. Like if some of the hospital administration and coworkers knowing me or my family. How do you explain something like this especially if your innocent! Im so tired of being a nervous wreck with 2-4 hours of sleep thinking about what or when i will know something from the BON

when and how do you know if your employer turned you into the BON?
im a brand new fresh nurse out of school. Landed me my first RN job at a hospital on a surgical floor. Their reasoning was that i was pulling a "high number" of meds. They started me out with very small case loads and a lot of outpatients that come in. I of course like to medicate my patients that are in pain. There is also a LARGE number of LVN's there. They are not aloud to push so they will get the supervisor or a RN that is near. Well....guess who was always sitting at the nursing desk because she had 1-3 and/out patients. and 90% Most of the time the supervisor is never around/near.

when and how do you know if your employer turned you into the BON?
I was contacted by my nurse manager the day before my scheduled shift tthat i couldn't come in to work and to come in that wed to speak with them and if everything was clear i could return to work. what a long week that was. I sat and thought what it could be and nothing like this ever crossed my mind. I go in on that wed ....sat and waited for almost a hour to go into a room with two men that were security? They sit and talk to me and tell me to be honest that it would be better this way. So....what to my suprise? Diverting! So after almost hours of questioning and drilling and me.being a 110% honest ended with a drug test and we will call you when the results come in. I believe i heard them say that they are obligated to report this. So i get a call a few days later saying im fired. We dont know if the BON is going to be involved. Another few days go by and i get a call from some medical place asking me to provide all prescription drugs im on to them. I totally forgot that my cough syurp i take @ nights has codeine in it...which was +. I did what was.asked and haven't heard anything since. I know now after searching this site for hours that i probably shouldn't have answered any question but i went into this meeting blind having no idea
