Hi! I'm excited too! Also very nervous! I have gotten just about everything ready to go. I am almost finished with the Elo class. I accessed everything through blackboard. It is not hard. It just takes time. I can not believe that I will actually be in nursing school in just a few short weeks!

Thanks! I finally got it fixed! I laughed and told the tech support lady on the phone that I had just gotten my phone and didn't know hardly anything about any of it! I put in my device id # wrong. Funny thing was I even looked it over a few times and reread it to her and she even looked at it and we were both saying the same thing. She helped me though! It seems like we have been the only ones checking here lately unless everyone else is just quiet but I just wanted to tell everyone to check their bucs mail. I got an email so if you haven't checked, do!

I know! I have seen the nursing students in their uniforms and kept telling myself that I would be there soon. Now I made it and I can't wait to wear mine! This is another step closer to my goal:)

Does anyone know when we will be getting our uniforms? Will it be on the 1st day of class or will we get them before? Why do I think of all these questions now? Haha!

Thanks! I wasn't sure which ones had the code. I started looking today and have got to order some. I figure that I will end up getting a few from the school also. I have to get mine engraved as well. I was thinking maybe Things Remembered would be a good place.

Meghantk...you said that you ordered some of your books and I have a question. Did the books you get have codes for Internet access? I want to make sure I get the right thing. I know they say "with cd" but o remember her saying something about access codes. Thanks!

Hope you had a great time! It's great you got a getaway before school starts because I know we won't have much free time come august 22. I was hoping to get the books soon also. The girl in the bookstore said they wouldn't be out until august though. Maybe she is wrong! Haha! Let me know if you find out any different.

Your welcome! I have gotten a few of the things. I have a nice littman stethoscope already. I bought the pen light, scissors and an id holder (will need for clinicals) at a uniform shop today. I looked ALL over for shoes. I was set on a pair of skechers and was walking back to the store in the galleria and saw another store and thought I would check in there just to make sure. Well, they carried danskos and I tried them on. Bad idea! They were awesome! More than I wanted to pay but I loved them. Good luck with the CPR class! It wasn't bad. You'll do fine:)

I'm getting it all done also! I got my health paper turned in. I went by the school to turn it in and asked about the nurse pak. I was told that it just had things like cath kits, syringes and things like that. We are required to purchase our stethoscope, pen light and scissors. I went by the bookstore and there were still no books out. They told me it would be august before they were put out. I want to get all that I can off the Internet as well. I guess there are a few that I could order but I just don't know b/c of the online code that we have to have. I will probably end up having to get most of them from the bookstore. I also got shoes today. So one more thing down! I was wondering if I should purchase some headphones to use when we work in the computer lab. It says something about them in the nursing handbook but I didn't know if I needed to get any or not. I guess I will just send an email and ask. Are you having a lot of issues with the app? I read a lot of bad reviews about it causing people trouble. I hope they can fix the problem b/c I read that it used to be great before some updates were added and that's when problems started. I guess I need to get mine downloaded. I can't believe school starts in about a month! I have been so anxious about it! I am just so ready to get it started. I hope that once I get started I can maybe relax just a bit but I am sure that won't happen anytime soon!

A lot of people were saying that they weren't working as well after the last update. I plan to download those this week. So much to do!

Ok. All white and all leather. They can be athletic shoes or Nursing shoes found at uniform shops. I was told specifics are in the student handbook available online. Why didn't I think of that? Haha! I agree. There are a lot of books! I got the list also. Now there are some that are just study guides and not required. I am also looking online.

I just sent an email so when I find something out I can let y'all know unless someone finds out first. I can't believe I forgot about that! I guess there was just so much going on.

We had to have the NMR or titer to check immunity. I've had two mmr's so I should be good. Then varicella (chicken pox) or proof of immunity, hep b (there are 3) or the titer if it had been a while like me, and the tb test I think that is it. I was just letting y'all know b/c it took some work getting my shot record. Come to find out my dr did not have my shot record so I had to go to my high school and get them to search for it. I have been out of there for 10 years! I was panicking trying to locate everything but I found it!

I got my cashiers check today. I am getting 2 shirts,2 pants and one coat. As far as tax, I didn't add on anything. It didn't say anything about it so I figured they probably figured it all in already. I will probably be wrong though, ha ha!

Well I guess tomorrow is the big day! I am so ready! Hopefully I will meet some of you. I have a question. I know the $45 is recommended for the lunch thing with SSANS. It says bring check along with membership application to SSANS. Is that something we get there tomorrow? Also, is the whole class part of that or just people that apply? What is it and what do they do? Guess that was more than 1 question, ha ha!

Just a heads up...I'm sure y'all already know about immunizations and all right?

Teejazzy...my husband will be 30 next month and his mom got her degree when he was little so she has been a nurse for a while! She works at Bryce mental hospital in Tuscaloosa. She has worked several places but it has always been mental health. I already know what I WANT to go into. I really would love to do labor and delivery. I loved having my babies and my relationship with my nurses. There are other areas that I would do but I know I would love l&d! I think a lot of people wait until some of the clinicals to see what they are most interested in. My husband was more interested in ICU or surgery. Paige1188...I got into the RN program at shelton state.

Amazon is great! I found a pack of 6 pen lights for like $6. Teejazzy...he was at Lawson state. He got accepted at Jeff state and shelton also but Lawson was the only place that offered the night program and you could finish up in the same amount of time so he chose to go there. He got through the first year and was working full time and doing nursing school. He just got burnt out. He already has a degree from UA in business so he already had work. We had also just had our 3rd daughter and were moving and had so much going on. He was doing well. We just decided that it was better for me to go to school. I REALLY want to do nursing and for him it was just something he thought he'd try. He did say for him med-surg was the toughest. His mom is a nurse that made all a's in school and her words were "med surge is a *****!". He of course told me to study and to really get organized. He said pharm was easy for him but math is no problem for him. He said yes it will be tough but he thinks I can do it since I am really wanting too. I sure hope so!
