  1. Hello All, I am a new Clinical Application Analyst (4 months) and is currently working on MT 5.64 and I am having the hardest time understanding the flow of this system. Let me also add that I did not receive any proper training on this HCIS which made it even more difficult. What I have learned has been on my own and by asking a couple questions to people who has been there for a while. Any suggestions on how to learn the system besides reading the 647 page NUR manual. I'm getting frustrated because I feel that I am getting nowhere with this system and it is hindering the work that I could be doing if I knew how this system works. BTW-I have spoken with my manager about this: "Be patient it will come to you." Any help, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, InformaticsRN
  2. That is good to know. I will definitely look into positions with vendors as well. Thank you!
  3. Hi Mariafh, I would prefer the analyst role be in the hospital. I'm not in the position to travel at this time working for a vendor, unless traveling is not necessary. Thanks for the continued insights.
  4. Hi ikarus7401, Those were some encouraging words. You are right, I didn't learn nursing until I started working as a nurse. As far as interviewing, it is horrible for me. I get nervous and it becomes disastrous. I have time to improve before graduation. Thank you!
  5. Thank you, I've been a Southern girl all my life, but it may be time for a change. I don't know...we'll see. However, I did check out the website.
  6. Hi stephenfnielsen, I would like to pursue an analyst role. My background is 9 years ED, in addition to LTC, home health, and pre-op experience.
  7. Hello rninformatics, Is this resource available just to schools or can someone like myself utilize it for continuing education purposes or to further learning on a personal level? Thanks
  8. Hello to all, I am graduating from a MSN informatics program soon and I am very nervous about it. I have learned alot from the courses but when I read job descriptions on jobs i am interested in such as clinical systems analyst, business analyst, database analyst, ect... I feel like I am not or wasn't prepared for these jobs. I guess I am asking what can I do to prepare myself for a job in this field? I am buying resources in addition to the text books I already have to try to get more familiar with certain jobs that are an interest to me. I do not know what else to do. However, I am excited and look forward to working in this field of nursing. If anyone has any suggestions, comments or ideas, please feel free to share them with me. Anxious:uhoh21:
