  1. I was wondering what the average ratio is for nurse to patients for the night shift. I work in a tele unit but we get everybody! I am expected to care for 8 patients that run the spectrum of complexity. We are getting killed everyday! I was also looking for research to show our manager how dangerous it is to staff based on census and not on acuity levels. I really feel like I am a reactive nurse vs a proactive nurse. I have only been out of school since may. I was a paramedic prior to this and thank god I have those expierences to draw from! Thanks!
  2. Hey, I am also looking for information on the Health Alliance in Cincy. I also want to know about the work enviroment as well. I am applying to St Luke's West and would like some inside info. Thanks, Street Doc
  3. First of all take a deep breath! Get use to hard classes. When you start nursing school your life is going to change big time! I had an anatomy professor who was very hard on us. I thought he was a jerk, but when i got into school his class seemed like kindergarten! Your professor is doing you a favor by being hard. He is getting you ready for nursing school! You just have to hang on and do all you can to pass. You will do it!!! Take Care, Street Doc
