  1. I would assume all nursing schools are very similar since there is certain curriculum you have to take in order to take the NCLEX :) The teachers at Langston don't play around. This is why we have a 100% pass rate. You will hear any of us Langstonites complain midway through the semester - it's hard work and you barely have time to sleep! But it pays off in the end! Nursing school isn't easy and it shouldn't be. You only have 2 short years of nursing school and then its just you with someone's life in your hands... :) With all of that being said anyone that wants to be a nurse bad enough will pass Langston with no problem!
  2. That's pretty common! Langston is competitive. When fall fills up they "over flow" the the others into spring. Good luck Langston is definitely an adventure that takes a lot of dedication to get through!
  3. CONGRATS everyone!!! I am a current nursing student at Langston Tulsa. Dont hesitate to ask any upper classmates questions!Nursing school is a tough road but will be very rewarding when you finished.
  4. I do home health and I would highly suggest starting in a hospital! You dont do a lot of "nursing" that you learned in school. Its more paper work. Trust me go to a hospital first and get some hands on experience! It would make it much harder to go from home health to a clinical setting that the other way around :) Good Luck!
  5. What did you learn in your first semester of Health Assessment? During orientation we were told we'd have a test the first day but wasnt told what to go over! Ahh Ive been reading my mom's old HA book but geez WHERE do I start. Im hoping its just vitals! :) Any advice!?
  6. I'm taking my CNA course at a clinic in Broken Arrow, I believe Wings Healthcare it's off main street. I would find a class soon bc when I looked in May I only found one place in Tulsa with openings before September.. And I spent the afternoon calling several different places. Good luck with your search!
  7. I start Jan 2012 also and I'm full time. I was really hoping to start this August but I still have a class left to take and am getting my CNA lisence this summer. : )
  8. I have been admitted to Langston, Tulsa's BSN program and the staff has been nothing but helpful! They are easy to get a hold of and all have up beat attitudes. I dont have anything so far that isnt positive to say about the college. Im am super excited to start nursing school at Langston! :) I think people get too caught up in the big name colleges such as OU. At the end of the day we all have to pass the NCLEX.
