  1. Why do you need to send your birth certificate? You did the online application? If I were you, I would physically take my birth certificate to the BON, give it to them and request my number. I'm telling you to do this because I've done this and I know others who have done this and we have our license numbers because of it. Once they have your fingerprints back and it's been three weeks since your test you can get your number quicker if you go there (you won't get the paper license though). If you call they will keep saying you have to wait but if you go there you will get results. I had to go to get my ATT also because it was taking way too long. Good luck!
  2. Yes, go to the Board of Nursing and tell them you need your license number.
  3. If you go back, they will have you fill out another form and you will get your number that day.
  4. Hi! I am interested in applying to this school. How are your classes going so far? How often do classes start and what is the typical length? Thanks for your help!!
  5. There are some people who have worked throughout the whole program and they are doing very well. Working is not encouraged but for some that's not an option. Most of the clinicals are at JFK but we also go to Robert Wood and Overlook. My advice would be to relax now because once January comes its pretty much nonstop until December. Keep up on your readings...once you fall behind its very very hard to catch up. The instructors are very helpful, go to them if you have any questions.
  6. Hi! First, congrats!!! You're in for quite an experience!!! I'm in the program now and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...almost. Anyway, the course load is pretty heavy. The first semester we had lecture 3x per week and clinicals 2. Second and third semester 2x's for lecture and 2 for clinicals...Fridays off. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  7. I know when I applied back in March they sent a date to take the test after they received my application. However, I think they changed it. Did you call the school and ask?
  8. Thank you very much! So, the deadline was March 1st and a couple of weeks later they sent my test date, which was April 9th. I received my acceptance letter maybe two weeks after I took the test. They seem to move pretty quickly... The entrance exam wasn't bad, it was basic math, reading comprehension, grammar, and critical thinking. I bought the study guide and it was helpful as far as knowing what to expect. By the way, if you want to do the accelerated program you have to be done with ALL of your general courses before you start your nursing classes. They will accept you as accelerated eligible until you complete all general courses though. If you do the traditional route then you can take general and nursing courses at the same time.
  9. Yes, I have been accepted. Good luck with everything! I hope everything works out.
  10. Hi Everyone! Is anyone planning to do muhlenberg's accelerated program starting in january 2012?
  11. Yes definitely let me know how it goes! Good luck!
  12. If you go the traditional way, you will finish with a nursing diploma from Trinitas and an associates of science degree from UCC. With the diploma only option, you graduate with just a diploma in nursing from Trinitas. You only need a diploma in nursing and a degree (doesn't matter what field) to be eligible to take the NCLEX. With the diploma only option you can transfer more credits.
  13. You're very welcome! I did was going to do the diploma option but I ended up getting into Muhlenberg's accelerated program, so I'm going to do that instead.
  14. Hey dreamer19...let me tell you what I know from my experience. You apply to UCC and declare a major in nursing for trinitas. At some point you will receive a letter saying you have been accepted and you should send in your transcripts, among other things. However, you can send them now but there is a form in the admissions office you need to fill out before having the transcripts sent in, so that they will evaluate them. If there are prereqs you need to take, just go ahead and start them. Once you have established a gpa, you will receive a letter inviting you to register for the first nursing course (you may get the letter before a gpa is established, it just depends on the number of slots available). Also, since you have a BA degree already, you can opt to do the diploma only option. If I were you, I would go to the Cranford campus and talk to the enrollment specialist. I really had a great experience with the lady (don't remember her name). Her office is right across from where you sign up to see a specialist. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!
