just failed the nclex first time around..
I’m glad to hear you still have a positive attitude about staying motivated for your next exam. I know exactly how you feel. Third time was the charm for me! I suggest you study at least 6-8 hours daily if you are retaking in 45 days. The last 2 weeks I really hit it hard and probably studied the majority of the day. Seems like a lot I know, but it paid off. I never studied that much for my first two exams. I would practice tests ranging everywhere from 75-265 questions. REVIEW every single rationale, why it was right and why it was wrong. I feel like reading the rationales is what really helped me. If there is something you feel you don’t understand when you read the rationales then look it up and read about it until you understand it. Keep doing question after question, then review. I took Kaplan the last go around and passed. I honestly didn’t read my book I only referred back to it. I concentrated more on completing the questions and reviewing each one. At least you will know what to expect next time and if you feel confident you will do just fine.

Scores On Kaplan Question Trainers
I took my NCLEX yesterday for the third time. I did the PVT and keep getting the good pop up, so hoping third times the charm! I did Kaplan for my review and my scores are as follows: Diagnostic: 57% Readiness: 58% Overall QBank: 59% Q1) 63% Q2) 57% Q3) 58% Q4) 55% Q5) 58% Q6) 56% Q7) 60% I feel the Kaplan questions compared to my NCLEX. The questions were not word for word but there were SEVERAL of the same topics in the questions that Kaplan covered. I think Kaplan gives a great review of both strategy and content. If you review your rationales to all of your questions I think you are good to go. Honestly, I did not read the book. I only used it to refer back to. For instance, while I was reading through my question rationales if there was something I was not sure about or wanted to know a little more about I wrote it down then looked it up later in my Kaplan book. Make sure you review your lab values, and know the decision tree. It works! Best of luck to you! You can do it!! Be confident!

Testing tomorrow at 11, sick to my stomach : ( any last words of advise.....
Try to stay confident in yourself! I just took my NCLEX for the third time yesterday. I did the PVT and got the good pop up, so I am hoping third times the charm! Wake up tomorrow morning and make yourself a good, healthy breakfast. Eat some sugar and fat before your exam, its brain food! Drink plenty of water. Take every scheduled break during the exam to help stay relaxed. Take your time, DO NOT rush through! Read each question carefully and chances are you are more likely to pick the correct answer. Do not worry about time, the more right answers you give, the less questions you will get. Try to stay focused, do your best, and power through the exam!
