  1. ANy of the AP students still have to take Pharmacology? If so what class are you getting into? I have to retake it, while I passed my test average was a 68 so ulitimately I failed. My advisor has been very little help in this situation.
  2. She posted my final letter grade on blackboard
  3. Pharm finals finally posted!
  4. I hate Chemistry and my final grade was a 89.4. Totally doable. Weekly reading assignments, labs, and quizes. Labs were not difficult at all.
  5. Did I see somewhere that our Pharm final would include questions from previous test, or am I confusing this final with another class? Trying to study and feeling a little overwhelmed.
  6. It was me. this is the email I received "The application process has changed. THR is no longer accepting employees for the APBSN program. To align with the THR's nursing strategic goal to support non-THR, community individuals who have a Bachelor's or higher non-nursing degree, THR employees will no longer be accepted in the THR APBSN program. THR employees who are interested in becoming a registered nurse can apply to the ADN-El Centro program offered by THR or can explore other nursing programs in the metroplex such as TWU, UTA, etc." However I have since spoken with the head of the THR education department and was told that it wouldn't effect people that applied this semester. I also spoke with UTA's Nursing department and was told that this chagne wouldn't effect people that had already applied that all of the changes were still in the works.
  7. Just an FYI for all of you that are partnered with THR hoping to get into the Academic Partnership program. The APBSN is in transition and they are going back to accepting only non-THR employee's with Bachelor or higher degrees. I have received a lot of conflicting information and information is still posted on the THR intranet. I was told by the head of Education Development at THR that this transit would not effect the people who have already applied but who possible effect the people applying int he future.
  8. I'm taking it too, along with Pharm, Patho, Amer. Lit, and Tech Writing..... What was I thinking. I've heard this class isn't that bad, I'm hopng they were right.
  9. I need to go buy some more highlighters. Your method would definitely mainstream things, since I think I'm highlighting half the page sometimes.
  10. Violach, maybe we should be study partners. I didn't do as well as you. I think I over analyzed a few of the first questions and then felt rushed to finish. Now I have to switch gears and start preparing for our Pharm test. There is just sooo much info to cover on one test.
  11. I work as an Adm Spl in the ER. In addition to this class, I start pharm and patho next Monday and two more classes in February.
  12. I called to try to get into this class today as there was a seat that opened up for non-payment. However, Nicole in the regstrar's office said that with the academic partnership classes you had to be signed up a week before class starts and even if people get dropped for non-payment their is no way to get put inot the class. The March class is already full as well. Not what I wanted to hear. Doesn't look this class is going to be available unitl summer.
  13. Opps you are right, it is 8 weeks. Tech writing is the 5 week course I'm taking. I'm taking (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST NAMES OF INDIVIDUALS IN YOUR PROGRAM PER OUR TOS) too, so I guess we will be classmates. I wasn't signed up until about 2 weeks ago, so I didn't get that email.
  14. Are you taking this class online or in class? I took CHEM1451 last semester online with Seiichiro in an 8 week class. I loved my A&P classes but I hated chemistry. We had 6 (or 7) test, weekly pre-lab assignments, and weekly labs. She dropped our lowest lab grade, and substituted our last test grade for our lowest test grade if it helped our average. And then we had a final. Our weekly test were only 10-20 questions. All test and quizes were timed and taken on blackboard. Because it was online, we took our test at home. I didn't give this class my all. I hated it and only did enough to get by. My final grade was an 88.4 and she didn't round up. This is the only B I have on my transcript. It is important that you understand each chapter as they tend to build on each other. Good luck and I hope this helped.
  15. I'm taking ENGL2329 - American Literature this semester online in a 5 week course. When I went to the bookstore online it showed no textbooks for this class. Has anyone here taken this course? Can anyone tell me what to expect? Assignments? Papers? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  16. futureexpectations - I know it can be frustrating. For me I was especially nervious because I had another school reject my application because my transcript was lost. I took mine to the business office so I would get a receipt for turning them in. She explained that it would take up to 4 weeks, but she might not have taken into consideration the holidays. It made me feel better that my advisor was able to view them.
  17. Violach - Looks like we'll be classmates. I feel I really don't have a choice. I need to completely them both. I only work as a PRN (on an as need basis) and only have to pick up two 12 hour shifts a month, so I really think it's do able.
  18. I took my transcripts directly to the business office, because my applicant to a differences schools program was not accepted because one of my transcripts didn't arrive. I was told by the business office that it would take up to 4 weeks for my mymavs to be updated. I submitted my transcripts the first week of Decemeber and they still haven't been updated, but when I contacted my advisor she was able to access them.
  19. I took Intro to Prof Nursing last semester. It was on Epic and didn't show up until the first day of class. I had weekly assignments and discussion boards due mid week, and quizes at the end of the week. And then the final. Class isn't diffilcult, but lots of reading and the assignments take critical thinking and comprehension of reading assignments. I was told that this class was a pre-req to the other two nursing pre-req classes for the nursing program.
  20. I applied to both programs. I am partnered with THR. Science GPA 3.75 Overall GPA 3.92 I am currently enrolled in: ENGL 2329 - American Literature (Section 700 1/21-315) ENGL 2338 - Technical Writing (Section 701 2/25-3/29) NURS-UL 3365 - Pharmacology (Section 600 1/28-4/19) NURS-UL 3366 - Pathophysiologic Processes (Section 600 1/28-4/19) I also having to enroll and take one of the two upper level nursing electives this semester, but am waiting hoping that they will open a Medical Terminology class. After this semester I will have 22 hours of credit at UTA (only 4 sciences) No other degrees. Hoping this is good enough to get me in.
  21. I'm applying to both as well. What kind of schedule does the online offer vs the traditional? Number of days in lecture, number of days of clinicals a week? I haven't found much info on this.
  22. I am pursuing my nursing degree, but have absolutely no experience in the medical field. I job got a PRN Admissions position in the ER. I won't get hands on experience but I will get to see all kinds of things and I will have my foot in the door at a hospital when I get my degree. We all have to start somewhere. There are all kind of administration positions at hospitals and PRN are great if you need flexibility in your schedule.
