FNP Graduate from Chamberlain College of Nursing Dec 2015
I'm in the program now, about to start clinicals in September. People around me are putting this program down, they don't seem to think that it is a "real degree" with "good education". I need to hear from graduates of this program: How did it go with the board exams? And how is the job hunt with showing a degree from this school? What kind of jobs did you get so far? I need some help here so I can show people that this program is legit!

I was looking for information about this scholarship too. I found a PDF online that lists information for this scholarship with contact info of an AF recruiter in Illinois. I called and talked to him, he told me that they no longer grant this scholarship for master's degrees, they only give it to nurses who are accepted into a DNP program. Apparently, the AF has increased their requirements for entry level NPs to doctorate level instead of MSN or DNP. I'm sorry if this is bad news for you, but at least you know that once you are ready for your DNP that there is a scholarship that would PAY you while you're going to school to become a doctorate-prepared nurse practitioner. If you are interested in this scholarship, finish your BSN and make sure you get really good grades, get accepted into a BSN-DNP program and apply for this scholarship.

I am thinking about joining the AF as a nurse, I've been a BSN RN for 3 years now. I am in school for my MSN now, to become a FNP. I'm a year and a half away from graduation. My question to you is: If I start working for the AF as a RN, will they allow me to finish my MSN and work for them as a FNP after I pass my board exam? Please advise

FNP Program at Chamberlain College of Nursing
So...I have been in this program for a year now. It is fairly easy, I got my BSN from a regular university here in Texas, it was very hard. The master's degree at CCN seems much easier compared to my BSN, which is kinda weird. I always thought that it would be harder when you work towards obtaining your masters. That is why I am posting this: What do students think about the FNP program with CCN? I feel that they are very relaxed with the assignments, you can make easy A's with minimal efforts. I have not started my FNP classes yet (assessment, pharm, patho, and the clinical classes), so I am hoping that it will get more stringent as I go further in the program. The most challenging part so far is finding a preceptor, apparently, the regular local universities are having the same issue, they don't find preceptors for their students anymore, so we're all in the same boat...at least in Texas. Can someone please tell me if they feel that CCN is setting us up for failure as FNPs by being so relaxed with their classes? I would love to talk to someone who already graduated from the program.
