Well I guess I didn't need to send a thank you because I got a call Friday offering me the position! Thanks for the advice though! :)

Shadowing after interview
Hello all! I had an interview on Monday and after the interview they asked me to come back and shadow. So I shadowed on Wednesday night. I wanted to send a thank you email for allowing me to shadow, but not really sure what to say. Does anyone have a sample thank you letter or any ideas on what I could say? I already sent a thank you email for the interview...any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

How do I get nurse recruiters to call me back?
I have been thinking about emailing the nursing recruiter here at OSU Medical Center in the James Cancer Hospital, but I'm not really sure what to say. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

Columbus Ohio=no new grad rn jobs
Well I don't think they would lie to you, but osu typically only hires new grads in the internship programs, I work on a medical surgical floor and my manager won't hire us uness we go through the internship, which I interviewed for and didn't get. My friend did get in and she said there are very few and nurses who were hired. It may be different floor to floor, but that's pretty much been my experience. I am still applying for a lot of the job postings & hoping for the best. What floor do you work on? I am on 10 west doan, but only until the middle of january. I don't know if you have been told that 90 days after passing nclex you can't work as a pca anymore...

I talked to the nursing recruiter for Select and Regency Hospital and she basically told me they don't hire new grads and wished my luck, recommended that I try to get a job in a nursing home...

If there were new grad positions there aren't any now.

Yes there are new grad positions, but not everyone gets them. You are lucky that you were able to get in to one. I have worked at OSU for 5+ years as a PCA and I can't get a job there, didn't get into the internship program. And that is with having all kinds of connections and experience, but because I don't have my Bachelors and didn't go to OSU I am at the bottom of the barrel.
