  1. WA state: started in 2009 at $12/hr w/ $2 night differential and $1.25 weekend differential Now $15+, same differentials
  2. PCT here. I work 12 hr night shifts, up to five in a row. On the way to work, I usually listen to the loudest rap music I can listen to (HAM by Kanye West and Jay-Z is a current favorite). It helps me to listen to other people being aggressive and angry at the world for strange reasons. Lately I've been drinking an energy drink on my first night back from an extended break, which helps me get through the night (especially while sitting for a patient). When things get too rough, i change my break scedule from a single long 1.25 hr break to multiple 15 minute breaks with a 30 minute break for lunch.
  3. Admission: I've been lurking here for a while not making myself known. I was also accepted into the Fall 2011 program. I was in the front row at the classroom. I'll echo the comments of sitenbroeck in that I finally felt like I was in a nursing program (therefore doing something with my life) a couple days after that meeting on the 9th. Rosie: Once I've "verified" myself, I'd like to get into the google group. As a side note, I have copied most of the handouts into google docs, if that helps with anything.
