  1. Hello, I was in your shoes. As an CNA I had worked all 3 shifts at one time or another. In the daytime, when the Big Dogs were there, you had more than enough people. The night shift was the same as yours, 2 CNA's to 50 people. Now to get away with that, they would count the LPN's as a CNA if needed. It was so bad. Lights going off all at the same time. If there was a real emergency then we were really up a creek. I had one night when we had to also take care of any problems with assisted living people on the other end of the building. We got a call, Mrs.X's husband called to say she had died. I ran over there to find a confused Husband, He could not tell me where she was in the apt. I found her sitting in her chair, checked her pulse and she looked up at me saying "Thank you for stopping by" Tears of laughter and relief rolled down my cheeks. :) I love school, and want to make a difference when I get out. Take care.
  2. Hello, I took the NET test cold turkey just to see what it was like. I agree that getting the book is the way to go. I looked on half.com but they did not have one. I will buy it new asap. Math is not my favorite subject. Algebra is fun but basic math %, fractions, etc is hard for me. I don't think like that but practice makes perfect. I will get help. This has been the coolest August ever, so nice. Thanks for your reply, Denise
  3. Hi, We sound like we are in the same boat, except for the fact I have never been to college. Last year was my first and I did great. I have 28 hours with a 3.75 GPA. My husband is disabled and my folks are elderly. I became a CNA and worked in a nuring home for a year. Everyone told me to become a RN so here I am. I wrote a one page for my interview, they said it was plenty. I worked in a Core Lab for 10 years, my heart is sending me in this new field.
