I sat for my exam in April and passed. I used the CCM Certification Made Easy book. I thought it was very helpful. I read the book cover to cover. The biggest help for me was memorizing the vocabulary. I felt the nursing questions were easy, but I was not as familiar with the insurance policy information or cost-benefit analysis type stuff, so I felt the book was very useful. Chicago $75 SOC, $60 Recert/ROC, $50 Regular visit/DC for my part time job with 40 cents per mile and no benefits. My full-time salary $73,000 base with $250 a month mileage expenses, $100 a month paid towards my cell and internet bill, $100 on call pay for the weekend plus $50 - $70 per weekend visit made, overproductivity pay for over 25 visits per week, and full medical benefits.

I'm in the Chicago area. My current base salary is $73,000 with extra for overproductivity, on call, extra OASIS visits, etc. I'm 2 years out of nursing school with my associates.

I'm starting for two pay per visit hh agencies. The first pays $50 for regular visit and a differential if they're complicated, $75 for SOC, $55 for discharge, and $60 for recertifications, $.40 per mile reimbursement, $40/month cell phone reimbursement, and you can be on call for a week for $250 for the week plus an extra $10 on top of regular pay for any visits you have to go on while on call. The other agency pays $35 to $40 per visit depending on if they're medicare or private/public and they pay $6 travel expenses regardless of how far away the patient is. Both agencies do in services every couple weeks which are paid and some offer CEU's.
