TEAS Scores
Thanks!! I went to talk to one of the Nursing Directors and he said that a 78.7 was a very good score for TEAS V. He said the highest score at our school was an 88.6. About 250 people took the TEAS at our school and I scored in the top 10%. He also added that with my high GPA and my A&P I&II complete with A's in both will add more points onto my TEAS score!! Hopefully this is enough to get me accepted. I will find out April 15th!

Help with TEAS Test
If you study the ATI book you will do just fine!! I didnt study mine thoroughly- just skimmed through it a few times and did the practice test questions and I scored a 78.7 overall. I found the science to be most difficult. Review Mitosis, Meosis, balancing equations, RNA, DNA, Classifications & Taxonomy, protons, neutrons, electrons, atomic #, atomic mass. Bio and chemistry questions will more than likely be the main questions in the science portion, in addition to scientific reasoning. The reading portion of the TEAS can be tricky... I usually do well on reading tests, but I got an 81 on the reading section. I will just tell you to read very carefully, some of the questions require you to follow directons or a series of steps and you will have to determine the outcome. Also they may have questions where they will give you a scenerio or list of prices and you will have to determine the best package or deal. Some of the questions are just too easy like reading a food label. Math was easiest for me, I scored a 92% on that section- it was very basic-- multiply (large numbers) (& deceimals), division (large numbers) (decimals), percents to decimals and vis versa. Measurments, and maybe a couple of word problems... Language usage section, was easy (i thought!)- know adjective, adverbs, pronouns etc... couple of spelling questions and also synonyms. Know when to use commas, hyphens, semicolons, & use quotation marks. I thought it was kinda elementry. Sorry to write a book, but just want to give everyone a heads up, I was in the same position last week stressing and trying to figure out what to study!! Good Luck

My experience with the TEAS V
You're right about the science portion!! It was crazy!! I've had A&P I and A&PII... and there were still some questions I didnt understand on there that delt with A&P... Chemistry was what my science portion MOSTLY consisted of...however, my friend beside me said her's did not have that much chemistry. Mine also had a lot of scientific reasoning which was difficult too. I would say for the most part study: balancing equations, protons, neutrons, electrons, atomic #, MITOSIS & MEOSIS was BIG on there-- know the difference between the two!! Know DNA & RNA and difference between the two. Know how to read the DNA chart (they will give you the chart on the test). You will also need to know Classifications & Taxonomy (Kingdom, Phylum, Class...etc...) I got at 63 on the science portion (terrible!) but when compared to national and program, I scored in the 71 percentile. I do not remember having ANY physics on mine, nor hydrocarbons (alkene, alkyne). Enzymes & catalyst u really need to know. My overall score was a 78.7- i thought this was bad and was kinda disappointed BUT apparently this is a good score- it was in the 87th percentile for my program type (ADN). I would highly reccomend the ATI book I studied this book (not thoroughly but i skimmed thru it a few times answering the practice questions)... I wish I would have studied it thoroughly because I definately would have gotten a better score if i did!!

TEAS Scores
Just received my TEAS test scores! Adjusted Individual Score: 78.7% ATI Academic Prepardness- Advanced Percentile Rank (program)- 87 Percentile Rank (national)- 86 Mean (program) - 64.9% Trying to get an idea of what scores Nursing programs are accepting.... Not sure if my 78.7 is going to cut it, however, the dean of nursing said that this was a good score. What scores are you all getting on the TEAS V (if you dont mind sharing) and are you getting accepted to your Nursing program of choice.... Thanks
