  1. I remember the blueprints. Lol. I think the best way we could study was to fill out the course map. (I think that's what it was called). It was something that went through the whole course. I filled it all out. It helped a lot.
  2. Were. I don't know why my iPhone wants to change were to we're.
  3. It was all new questions. I don't remember seeing any that we're previously used. There may have been one or two, but it's definitely not the type of cumulative that just takes questions from previous exams.
  4. The final had new questions on it. I don't remember there being ANY previously used questions on it.
  5. So frustrating. They supposedly only look stats, plus add a point for a couple of things (prior degree, hours at UTA). Nothing else supposedly goes into it. Why does it take 6 months to press a button on a spreadsheet to organize to where the people with the highest points are at the top??? Geez. So annoying!
  6. Oh... I just saw that you already received my response and had replied to it. Sorry!
  7. Kay -- They only consider the courses they require as prereqs as the "overall gpa." I was surprised to learn that. I don't know if the two f's you got were part of those courses, but I'm pretty sure they aren't because you have to have at least a C in all of the required pre reqs. you may have a better overall GPA than you thought!
  8. Oh, and this person has a master's already, too... so they obviously have completed the components required for the core curriculum...
  9. You are not the first person I have heard the same complaints from. I most recently heard about somebody being told in their LAST semester of nursing school at UTA that they needed like 5 pre-req courses that the school aparently missed. They had clepped out of a couple of them, but in this last semester, UTA decided the clep grade wasn't high enough. The others were just "oversights" before they were admitted into the program! I REALLY hope that UTA doesn't pull this crap on me if I get in... I'm over the limit for frustration related to schools not having the right info. Good luck with your goals. If I already had my RN, I would DEFINITELY do the RN-MSN program... seems like a good idea.
  10. Don't take them at UTA! Take them somewhere less expensive, like a community college -- if you're in Tarrant County, go to TCC, whose tuition is $50 a credit hr. ALL of my nursing pre-req courses transferred from TCC (except the 3 nursing courses which I did take at UTA)... I'm sure you have considered doing this already, but just thought I'd throw it out there!
  11. I got that email, too... right after they sent an email stating that I hadn't turned in my Hesi scores... when I knew I had! That was unnerving! I completed all of UTA's specific nursing pre-req courses plus my upper lever elective (Medical Terminology) this semester. It's good to have those completed... My stats are almost identical to yours, except I had 3.78 overall. Yeah... I'm hoping that it's enough. I really just want to find out -- I will have to change sooo many things in my life if I get in. Changes I want to make, but I need to know sooner, rather than later since I will have to say bye-bye to my fulltime day job and try to find something at night or on the weekends... or (gulp) try to survive on a part-time salary!
  12. I understand. I really hope they do right by you. I took most of my pre-reqs at TCC, and I had a friend who applied for their nursing program after completing a pre-med bachelor's, and TCC made her retake ALL of the science courses - a&p 1&2 because at UNT for their pre-med, their a&p covers more than just human anatomy, Micro -I don't know why they made her retake it, (I think they may have let her keep chemistry)... so it was kinda ridiculous -- I mean, that was only for the associate RN! She could've tested out of any of those courses, if that option was available. On a positive note, they do give extra consideration to those who already have a bachelor's or higher degree in another field... so once you get all the classes sorted out, you should have a better chance at getting into the program!
  13. Where did you hear that? I didn't get an email or anything. I hope you're right! I'm soooo tired of waiting!! :hdvwl:
  14. Chuckster: My transcript from MyMav shows that I need so many more classes than I actually do. You HAVE to get with your advisor in the nursing department, because they manually go over your transcripts and take the classes that will count toward the nursing degree... if you haven't done this, then you should... because you may not need so many classes after all.
  15. I'm a sept 11 applicant... waiting for these acceptance letters is a beating! I applied to both the on-campus and online classes. Honestly, I'm hoping for acceptance in the traditional program, but I will definitely take either one!
  16. I don't know if I'm accepted yet. I applied in January for the fall 2011 start date, and they are telling us that the letters are supposed to be mailed out sometime in May. So, I have at least another month or so to wait.
  17. I took all three at the same time at UTA in their online AP program. It was really no problem to take intro with the others... it was an easy class. (Pharm was HARD)
  18. I have never gotten an advisor on the phone at UTA... email is the ONLY way I've ever received a response, and even that is hit and miss.
  19. I took Intro to Nursing online in the class that started in Jan 2011. It was extremely easy. You just pretty much have to make sure you don't miss any assignments. I remember there being like 5 due each week - a discussion board post and a "reflective journal" writing assignment due by Wed at 8:00am, another weekly assignment that was due friday by 8:00am I think --it may have been due the same day as the quiz..., a quiz and two discussion board replies (replies to other student's original posts from wed) due by either sunday or monday 8am. SO... it's a 5 week class if you take it online, and it goes FAST... just make sure you don't miss any deadlines and you'll do well. Amanda.
  20. Yes, I also applied. The CON says letters will be mailed out in May. (They did not specify to me what part of May)
