  1. I know its been awhile since you posted this, but I had an interview Jan 14, and was offered a position to start orientation on Feb 5, pending clearing of background checks etc....Im a new nurse so Im taking the position primarily for the experience. I know nothing about the overall hospital except that the patients are very sick and the nurse to patient ratios for their ICU unit its 4:1 Tele unit 5:1 & med surg 6:1....The building is the old St John Conner Creek by the city airport. The units seem to be updated, but the census appears to be very low right now...Im nervous about starting, but Im nervous with any new job I start...Did you decide to take the position?
  2. No miteacher you can get fingerprinted in the state you're located but you have to mail in fingerprint cards... LARA - Health Professions website Download Application for Endorsement and it will explain how you can submit fingerprints if you live out of state
  3. Thanks for the Advice SweettartRN, I faxed a letter to the Senator and emailed 2 State Representatives so I hope something comes through real soon....I will keep you posted
  4. They finally looked at my application, and I notice that they want me to send in transcripts etc. I call to find out why I need to do that when the State of Illinois FED EX'ED the certification to them on November 9th and they told me I filled out the wrong application, I filled out the application for RN examination & not RN Endorsement. THATS A BUNCH OF_________!!!!!!!!!! I printed the application off the Michigan website it has a link that says RN/LPN Endorsement application. Im totally clueless how I could possibly done that, when on the application I stated the school I graduated from & that I had taken the NCLEX and have a license in the State of Illinois.....I feel like they are playing games....They have my license certification from the state of Illinois in their office and its been there for over a week now.....This process is RIDICULOUS.....
  5. WOW! I guess I have to do what I have to do....Thanks!
  6. Kimmymik What do you mean which state is better as far as processing license by endorsement?
  7. I just called MBON and the told me I have another 3- 3-1/2 weeks before they process my application....I clearly do not understand the issue. This is holding me up from employment....Im so depressed right now...smh
  8. I think I will be waiting the whole 8 weeks before I get my MI license, They received all of my information on Oct 19 and as of today they still have not reviewed my application. This is so disheartening!!!!!!!!
  9. Checked the website again today and they still haven't reviewed my application....Now I want to cry:arghh:
  10. I dont have 8 weeks to wait thats just ridiculous, how did you go about getting in contact with the house or senate? Who is the contact person(s) because I will do just that to get the process going. They are holding me back from working I wish I could hold back all my bills
  11. How long does it take for Michigan to give license by endorsement? I applied over 3 weeks ago and they still have not looked at my application. Im wondering are they behind in reviewing applications, because this process is holding me up from potential jobs. I check online everyday and it states that my application has not been reviewed which is very frustrating?
  12. I attended Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria Illinois....Im originally from Michigan, moved to Peoria just to attend nursing school and moved back to Michigan.
  13. Yes I next day mailed the 20.00 to Illinois........Yes I have been applying all over....Oakwood, Karmanos, DMC, Beaumont, Henry ford you name it.....Congratulations Im happy for you, I know you're excited....I may have to apply to LTC facilities since I have no nurse experience, but I will continue to apply and pray something comes along soon.
  14. Thats not bad at all, so all together it took about 3 weeks for you...Michigan received all my paperwork on Oct 19 and I was posted online as pending on Oct 25. I have been checking my status online and they still have not looked at my application. Im getting impatient again because I really really need a job. Thanks for the insight I will continue to keep you posted!
  15. Thanks Futurenurse108.....How long did it take for Michigan to issue your license or for you to see your license number online?
  16. I believe they do accept personal checks, I paid by money order just in case they hold up processing my application until the check clears. I believe on the application they tell you in what form you can pay the $50.00. BTW My name has posted on the website it took exactly one week for it to show on the license verification website, now Im waiting for the paper license...
  17. I checked the IDFPR license verification this morning and my name was posted on the site. Im happy about that, so that took only a week even though I was still impatient. I plan to send off for the certification next day mail tomorrow. Futurenurse 108 yes I read where it took awhile before they verified your license...I hope it dont take long for me, but Im most definitely prepared for it.
  18. FutureNurse108 I have done the exact same thing that you did... I went to nursing school in Illinois relocated back to Michigan sat for the NCLEX here in Michigan on October 15 I received the application to apply for RN license on Oct 22, sent it via next day air along with the 50.00 application fee on the same day. Someone signed for it on Oct 23rd. I called IBON on the 24th they said its being processed and to call back next week. Tomorrow will be a week so I plan to call tomorrow to find out the status. I still do not have a license number I have been checking the idfpr license verification site and do not see my name. I applied for Michigan License by endorsement. I did the fingerprints paid the fee, sent in the application and a week later my name is posted on Michigan website as pending as well. I have applied to so many positions...praying I get into Karmanos, but the person in HR said that I need Michigan license first, but the nurse manager has not started interviewing for the position I applied for as of yet, so Im praying once she does everything will be posted the IL license & Michigan License. Illinois is very slow I have waited on hold for up to an hour trying to get a hold of someone to find out the status...Im just going to keep looking on the website until they give me a license number. Once that posts I will send off for the certification for license verification with the 20.00 and I plan to do that via express mail and Im going to send a self addressed stamped envelope just to help them along in the process.....Im so ready to start working as a nurse
  19. Continental Testing will send you a letter with your picture stating that you have passed the NCLEX. Along with that you will receive an application to apply to receive your license, the bottom portion you send to the state along with $50.00. I sat for the NCLEX Oct 15 got the letter/license app Oct 22. I sent it off that same day via next day mail, someone signed for it on Oct 23 and now Im just waiting for my name to appear idfpr license verification site. Tomorrow will be a week Im praying its posted by the end of this week.

  21. Congratulations blynn You are such an inspiration I too have failed the NCLEX several times, When you took the NCLEX the first few times, did you do NCSBN or was it the first time you used their study plan/questions when you passed? Did you find that the questions from NCSBN to be similar to the NCLEX?
  22. Hi uaefan, I took the NCLEX this morning and tried the Pearson Vue trick and it sent me to the CC page...I failed on the 3rd try I dont know what it problem is, but Im so disheartened right now that Im in tears....I knew the content I guess I struggle with the critical thinking. I will continue to study and take it again after 45 days!
  23. thanks uaefan for the encouragement my situation is sooo identical to yours i too graduated from an accelerated bsn program and failed nclex 2 times and used kaplan both times. i am scheduled to take the nclex tomorrow and my studying have been from the saunders q&a which was highly recommended by several friends who passed the nclex, pda, and kaplan qbank. i believe in my heart that i will pass and i will be saying the st joseph cupertino prayer tonight and tomorrow before and after the exam. im so glad i ran across your post and i will keep you posted on the results of my 3rd time taking nclex...
  24. What study guides did you use to study?
  25. I took the NCLEX on October 18 and I failed with 75 questions I automatically assumed I mustve done HORRIBLE! I took Kaplan I finished 100% of the Qbank and I didnt start off doing well on the QTrainers, in QT6 I got a 52 and on QT7 I got 62. I thought I would be ok since I did well on QT7. I thought the NCLEX was not as hard as Kaplan. I like Kaplan I think Im going to go through it again and read through the book and then take the QTrainers. I believe my biggest downfall is that I didnt know enough content. I used LaCharity, but I didnt go through the whole book. I didnt have myself on a strict study schedule all i did was questions and read the rationales, but dont believe I understand thoroughly what all of the rationales meant. Im also going to use Saunders and go through the whole book the brush up on content. Im so hurt right now I couldn't believe that I would fail with 75 questions.:crying2:
