Hello! I am in an RN to BSN program and on my last capstone course! We need to come up with a PICO question for a evidence based research paper. I have been trying to think of questions for hours and trying to look up articles so that I won't make up a question and then have no evidence to go off of. Please give me your feedback, I would greatly appreciate any constructive criticism, re-wording, or ANY suggestions!! Here are a couple of options: -In adult patients diagnosed with congestive heart failure, what is the effectiveness of salt restriction compared to fluid restriction on decreasing fluid overload/CHF exacerbations? -What is the effectiveness of wearing compression stockings, compared to not wearing compression stockings, on decreasing post-op DVT's in adult patients after orthopedic surgery?

Sorry it took me so long to respond I was having computer trouble! I did buy the books from harper because it came in the bundle but boy was it expensive! I cant believe how many books we need for just first semester. I am really beginning to get really nervous for monday! I have hardly started to read either. When do you have patho?

Nice! I actually took advanced pharmacology this summer and had Barb Anderson who will teach nursing 111 and she is AWESOME so I'm looking forward to that class.

Yeah i just turned in all my stuff today as well! My clinicals will be on wednesdays 3-9 at alexian brothers hospital in elk grove, what about you?

It was alright, kind of stressful learning about the grading scale and having to have an average of a 76 on all tests before assignments/papers and such. we basically just signed a bunch of things and took a computer proficiency test. also we got a tour of the simulation hospital. i am very excited to start but very nervous!=] what is your schedule like for fall?

congrats!!! were you at the orientation last night? it was scary but good to finally get some more information!

My first semster I already took microbiology and psychology so I only have patho and the nursing classes to focus on. This summer before the program I am taking Advanced Pharmacology to get it out of the way so I only have the remaining classes to focus on. :)

yeah i got A's in anatomy and phys and a 78 on my NLN so my bio scores really boosted my overall score. right now it says it is closed, but keep your fingers crossed and maybe you will get in! If not, sign up for the bio class that you did poorly in again and try to get a higher grade to boost your score. good luck! i hope you get in, let us know! :)

I'm sure we will all do great! We just have to stick together! I actually almost went to chamberlain, but harper is cheaper and closer for me! I hate that we haven't had any info yet haha. I wish I knew if we are supposed to sign up for classes on the regular sign up date. Oh well, just have to be patient i guess! :)

I'm taking microbiology and psy 228 right now to get it over with, sorry! does anyone know if we register for classes the same day as everyone else, april 12th? I did hear something about having to be tested for our cna skills before we register, but I'm not sure. The cna skills i'm worried about because I took the cna class a year ago and haven't worked as one. I hope there is a lot of open lab time we could use to practice!!!

hi xcited2bAnurse i just found out that i got accepted for fall 2011 as well! i'm so excited! its going to be a long and tough journey but we can do it!!!
