That's why I decided to post here (I was too confused LOL ! )what the other nurses have to say in this situation, to get me started on what to do next. jamineRN: I used Saunder's 5th ed for content, did all the practice questions after each chapter, including the CD. I also practiced on Incredibly Easy 6 Comprehensive Tests. Did some practice questions on Mosby's Comprehensive review 19th ed (there might be a newer version, not totally sure) I didn't do a review class, too expensive LOL. Good luck to you!

Just passed the NCLEX last week!! waHOO!! yes I feel like I am still on top of the world BUT I kind of have a dilemma because I want so badly to start applying for jobs (I didn't apply before NCLEX because I was so unsure of myself if I would even pass the first time!), but my probelm is, I will be going overseas (3 weeks) for my little sister's wedding in December. I am thinking that if I start applying now, and if I get interviews or job offers (maybe in a perfect just-passed nclex world? ) then it would just ruin my status when I leave for 3 weeks in the middle of being a newly-hired nurse right? However at the same time, I want to work somewhere (3 months is a lot of time doing nothing :anbd:) instead of waiting until after the trip to apply. Please help I dunno what to do next!

Thank you guys SOOOOOO much for your encouragement! I am so nervous that thinking of NCLEX day gives me "GI disturbances" LOL!! I have been browsing through other threads about what they used for review, whether self-review or review class and I decided to do self-review and now that test day is just around the corner, I still don't feel ready enough! :dzed: :sstrs: :grn: Ok back to studying :) Thanks again guys!

OMG I think my GPA was only somewhere along 2.8 and 3 The only positive points I guess :chair: was that I didn't fail any course though, throughout the RN program. I have been studying mainly Saunders 5th ed cover to cover including the cd, La charity, and Delmar practice questions. Other sources I have used only for the practice tests are Incredibly Easy 6 Comprehensive tests, Mosby's illustrated NCLEX-RN and another Mosby reviewer, to get a taste of different styles. Gosh, I hope these are adequate enough

I'm SO nervous I will be taking my test next week (which I have already rescheduled twice because of my nerves as the previous dates got closer) and it is giving me a headache literally that I couldn't concentrate studying as the big day is getting closer! And to make matters worse I have almost zero confidence, well, sometimes I do but not as much as I would've wanted to. The reason is because in nursing school I was only a B or C student. Very few A's. I am curious if anyone here that had similar grades as mine, has passed the NCLEX on the first try?

I saw the downloadable book on the Barnes & Noble site but I don't have a nook or kindle

I need help with prioritization / delegation (more on prioritization) Does anybody have suggestions where I can find onlline practice quizzes? At this point I wouldn't mind paying a few dollars! I searched around this site and many have recommended the Prioritization book by Lacharity, but I checked in Barnes & Noble, etc they don't have one currently available that I could buy asap. Ordering through mail takes too long and I need to study now Any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi all, any suggestions on what to bring my preceptor as a thank you gift on my last clinical day? I will bring a thank you card, but can't think of what to bring because there are other nurses too on the floor whom I have interacted with during my clinical experience. A box of donuts doesn't sound too exciting right?

I am a nursing student and my current clincal rotation is home health. I will be with a preceptor and I have nobody to ask how it is, what it is like, and I want to make a good impression on my preceptor. My concerns are, what does the typical nursing student do in regards to making sure I meet my course objectives like client teaching (how do you open up or start the conversation with the client/family with the preceptor there?), making sure I do the necessary assessments (without making myself look like I have no idea what I'm doing? I have had clinical on the regular hospital floors but I have no "intense" assessment experiences, only the typical vitals, lung sounds, etc), and included in the objectives is to perform like an independent nurse with the level of 'just graduated and confident'? (I am still in school obviously and am nervous in going out there and digging up some "confidence" within me, wherever that may be). Any input, tips are much appreciated! Thank you!
