  1. I just took the AACN ACNPC-AG test and passed. It was a really hard exam! I think what makes it hard is there is very little information to make diagnosis. But I felt like it was a fair test. I studied the online review course provided by AACN. Every topic that they covered, I made sure I knew ins and out of those topics. In the cardiology section, there were questions on preoperative cardiac risk stratification, which was not covered. Cover those throughly as you study. Also, how to calculate tube feed goal rate (ml/hr) given patient's weight (kg) and formula (kcal/ml). Antibiotics were there, which ones cover gram negative, gram positive, or pseudomonas. There were ventilator changes questions (know what high pressure alarm mean, or what low pressure alarm mean and how to fix it). Common medication side effects and their EKG changes (anti-depressant, what EKG changes do you see). There were a lot of questions on ACNPC as educator and mentor. There were questions on spinal cord diseases (Spinal stenosis vs disc herniation, spinal abscess, and things like that (know clinical manifestation and treatment). My husband is physician and he recommended USMLE step 3 for me for practice questions. I purchased it for $150 and I think it was very helpful. The more practice questions you do, the more comfortable you feel answering questions. USMLE step 3 cardiology, pulmonary, and neurology was very similar to this exam. Good luck and don't panic! :)
  2. Thank you for the responses, lauren, anurseatlast, steve :) I will wait for the email and go from there.
  3. Hi Luran, I got accepted to the August 2011 class, I am from Arizona and never been to NE. Can you tell me about the student living? Is it easy to find a roommate? Are the apartments close by affordable? I will need a place to live there, is it hard to find a place very cheap?
  4. Wow, that really is an unfair case, sorry to hear that
  5. guruamrit, are you from Taxes? I am from Arizona, Ca is the neighbor and it will be perfect to move there. I am too hesitant because of the accrediting since I will be coming back to AZ to practice. I will ask more questions if they called me for an interview
  6. Good luck on your interview on Monday :) :)
  7. I just turned in my application for Creighton University and Rochester University Medical Center, I am willing to move if I get accepted in any of those schools. I have family members both in NY and NE and they told me those schools are really good. But I prefer Concordia bc its close to me and I dont have to move too far, that is why its my first choice. I have a decent GPA (3.68) in my bachelors and many clinical hours, idk what they mostly go by when they call for interview. My application was completed end of March but I have not heard from them yet. Do you mind to share your bachelors GPA?
  8. What school is your first choice if you dont mind me asking? Did you get accepted there too? I am still waiting for an interview. They told me they will call interviews for fall in the first week of July , I wonder how they called you before the application deadline, did you apply super early? Congratulations on the acceptance though :)
  9. Hi Sandy, No I did not apply for summer cohort either. This is my first time applying for the school. I too have all my prereqs done, except for one which I am taking in the summer. Its the Nutrition class which I will be done with before July. I havnt apply to any other schools yet, Concordia is my first choice, I will wait to see if I get interview this july, if not I will consider other schools. Cant wait for the interview now!! Good luck with your application, hope we all get interviews :):)
  10. Hi Nursing 76. Thanks for the thread. I applied for Fall of 2011 too, just finished turning in all the required material and am waiting for an answer from them. Do you know when they will be calling us for interview?
  11. Hi hhalim! My question for you is can a non-Christian student apply for the University accelerated BSN? Do you guys only accept Christian students? Are students asked about what their religion is in the interview?
