  1. its pretty cool...you learn a case but then it's easy and you just go through your routine. Scheduling is flexible and management is very nice...Good luck. Where are you being hired?
  2. I think what they meant was that in Home Care sometimes the family or the patient doesn't want a male nurse. I was told this before orientation, but they found a case that ok'd me being a male....i don't know.
  3. You should send them a letter stating that you have to decline the position for whatever reason you choose to tell them. I actually just did the same thing. They'll understand.
  4. One major plus...the entire staff that I met was very nice and warm..this included my supervisor, DON, HR department, and I think a couple fellow nurses.
  5. I was told I'd be trained to be a skilled pediatric nurse...I am a new grad wirth no experience outside of clinical. I know they have a classroom/lab in their office suite and also, I think I will be precepting with other nurses. The only negative I see right now is that it is 8 hour shifts. I was kind of hoping for 12s.
  6. No, no connection. Just got a random call and I still never heard back. Kinda strange?? Im hoping they call or send me a rejection letter. Something is better than anything.
  7. Does anyone work there?? I just got hired there today. Was wondering how it is?
  8. I cant send private messages, but thanks again and i sure hope so...also, love the screen name Skeletor
  9. I appreciate your responses. Thank you.
  10. No, she didn't say anything about that. I worked there before as a pool nurse associate, and she said, Well, you already know So and So (meaning the Director of Nursing) and I said yes. The truth is, I never applied to a specific position. My Aunt knows someone on their Board and gave them my resume and the very next day I was called to schedule an interview.
  11. I know. I just hate the waiting game. I feel like I spent all my time in school and now it's impossible to get a job. I'm hoping for the best, but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for your help and I will use your advice and refrain from calling in the future. Here's the thing. The HR(Nurse recruiter) told me when orientation was, gave me a benefits package, copied my CPR card, told me how much parking came out of your paycheck, explained the union dues, also gave me a packet of papers that evaluate performance on the job over the life of orientation and as I was leaving said she needed to talk to the other nurse recruiter to find a floor for me and said she'll be in contact...??...so to me it sounded good. What do you think?
  12. I called all the places I applied to and asked if they had any open positions? If they were hiring, I'd ask the status of my application. This normally will get an answer, though some places don't discuss app status over the phone and tell you that you'll be contacted. Hope this helps
  13. How long until you find out if you are hired? It has been a week and their policy is not to discuss application status over the phone. Should I wait it out and be patient or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
  14. I honestly just filled out for every position online. I had an interview today and they went over the salary, union dues, copied my bcls card, gave me a benefits brochure and I signed a few papers. I was asked a few questions and that was it. I don't want to jinx it, but it seems like I'm getting hired and I dont even know what floor. I was asked what shift I preferred and I said it didn't matter. She also gave me the orientation dates, but never said I was hired. So I'm keepin my fingers crossed. I've heard its a great hospital to work at. This all happend just when I was giving up hope. Say a prayer for me please!!
  15. I have an interview tommorow at Cooper University Hospital. Does anybody work there? How is it?
  16. Im located in sewell nj. The office is in MT Laurel.
  17. I cold called this place and they were talking about giving me an interview and to get all my info together, etc...i was slightly confused, but very happy...I just wanted to see if anyone on here has/does work for this company??
  18. I'm beginning to believe what ive been told...sheesh:crying2:
  19. Jeez...this doesn't sound to good...I just don't get it. You work your butt off and then can't get a job. Well, thank you for your response, and how do you find out about volunteer work? Are there any websites?
  20. Any help...please??
  21. Hi Everyone, I recently graduated from Thomas Jefferson's ASN-BSN(i'm done the ASN portion) and I've been searching for a job endlessly. I feel lost. I don't know what to do. Everyone wants experience, etc. Does anyone have any resume pointers or any other helpful tips like places to apply to in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area?? Any places I could volunteer to as an RN?? I sound like a begger though I'm really not. It's just with each passing day I feel like everything I've learned in clinical goes further away from me....any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys and girls.
