telemetry NEW GRAD
Hi Guys! Hope everyone's day was awesome or will be awesome if you're working the night shift. :) I just started my orientation today..and spoke with a newly hired nurse educator who just got hired to work on my floor also. In my quick convo with the educator, I was told that our medsurg unit will be transitioning full force into a tele unit. eek! there's just something about telemetry that scares me.. especially as a new grad..or maybe its just my fear of starting a new grad job during the graveyard shift..AND caring for tele patients.. what should i bring with me to the floor as a new grad...tangible and intangible..:confused:mahalo nui loa!

Have an interview - apply for add'l job at same hospital?
hmmm. i've always been told no matter what the industry..working in 2 places in 1 company would be considered conflict of interest..however, I don't see any harm in doing so since you're not officially hired by the employer. let me know how it goes.. good luck :)

Night shift, new grad - advice please.. ?
Hi Everyone! Just wondering if there are any nurses out there who started out as new grads with a 7p-7a shift on med/surg. Any advice? I'm excited and nervous at the same time. What are the key points starting out as a new nurse? I'm really hoping that I have an awesome team to work with, most of all..an awesome preceptor.. I'm kinda scared knowing that there's usually only 1 doc on call..and that the pt/nurse ration is higher during the evening. Any pointers?? Thanks!
