I am 27 now, and I am starting this fall!

I was accepted into the Fall 2012 Nursing Program at my college! I am so excited I can barely contain myself! Orientation is in May and then the fun begins :)

Last semester I took 12 credit hours: English 101, History 102, Medical Terminology, and Psychology 201. This semester I am taking 18 credit hours: Basic Anatomy and Physiology (lecture and lab), English 102, Math 105, Introduction to Computers, Psychology 203 (Human Growth and Development). This summer I am taking 9 credit hours: Anatomy and Physiology I and Math 120. This fall I am taking 8 credit hours: Anatomy and Physiology II and Microbiology. This December I will finally be done with all of my pre-reqs and ready to start the nursing classes and clinicals in January of 2012. I also work part-time as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) at CVS/Pharmacy. This is usually no more than 20 to 24 hours per week. I must admit that this semester working + school is starting to put a toll on myself and my level of sanity, lol.

Our program considers them co-reqs here. Actually, they accept students into the program who are still taking English 101. Our school accepts nursing students in the Fall and Spring semesters. Only 40 students get in and you have to get at least a 73 on the TEAS, have a 2.5 GPA, and complete the checklist.

I am applying for the Fall 2011 ADN Program at our local college. I am taking the TEAS next Wednesday - wish me good luck, please! :) As for classes, I only have four (non-nursing) classes to complete: A&P I, A&P II, Microbiology, and Math 120. I plan to take A&P I and Math 120 this summer. Therefore, I will only have to take the other two during the actual nursing classes. I hope we all make it into our respective programs and we can share our frustrations and excitement along the way!!

I'm taking the TEAS test NEXT Wednesday, March 9th (during our schools spring break). I took a practice test tonight and did kind of poorly, however, that was without studying and just going into the practice test "cold turkey." It appears I need to freshen up on my science section the most. I have three TEAS study guide manuals. The one I used tonight was from ATI. I am hoping to do much better on the actual exam next Wednesday. Any pointers anyone?? Thanks!!
