I was at orientation yesterday too. I haven't bought my books yet, but the manager of the bookstore told me if you buy all the recommended books in the bookstore that it comes to about $1350. Crazy!! I guess you bought everything at the bookstore? I heard so many conflicting things from different people concerning which books we REALLY needed. I am so excited though about the program. Look forward to getting to know everyone!

Je88, My financial aid package was just posted today on the MyMercer page! I haven't gotten the hard copy in the mail yet. I did receive some federal aid and am eligible for student loans. I did receive $7000 GBCON Merit Scholarship for academic standind a $1000 Scholarship from the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation. So excited!! I have been stressed about the money side of things. In regards to the PDA, I have a IPhone 3G right now. I'll have to see if that will work. My laptop is old though; I definitely need an update. I am researching the IPad also or there is something similar made by BLACKBERRY I have been told that had ADOBE Flash on it where IPads don't have that. I can't wait until orientation. Are any of you guys bringing guests to orientation?

About to begin shopping for a new computer for nursing school. Wondered if any of my fellow class-mates had any advice or recommendations? I have some nursing friends who say they use the IPad or a small laptop. What are you guys going to use?

Thanks for letting me know. I filled mine out in January and received my acceptance letter on April 22nd. I know they are swamped; I'm just anxious. One the MyMercer Page, you just clicked on the financial award letter section, right? I just want to make sure I'm not missing it. I hope you get the rest of your tuition money worked out. Do you think you will do the payment plan?

Hey, I saw that happyinga got her Financial Aid Award Letter last week. Has anyone else received their letter. Happyinga did you receive it in the mail or on your mymercer page? I know the admissions office sent us all an e-mail a week ago to say they were trying to get everyone's packages finalized by July 1st which was yesterday. Nothing is showing up on mymercer page for me yet? I'm anxious to find out how much I will owe out of pocket. I can't wait to meet all you guys at the orientation. It's right around the corner. Hope you guys are looking for apartments are having good luck with your search. Luckily, my husband and I live in Lawrenceville which is just about a 30 to 40 min drive. Let me know when you guys hear from financial aid :)

Congrats!! My name is Robin and received my acceptance packet end of April. Once they receive your $200 deposit they will send you an official letter with your student ID#. Then you are officially enrolled. They have two orientation dates to choose from, July 19th or August 9th. I'm going on July 19th. I haven't done my CPR yet either. They are offering 2 Saturday CPR courses in August for Mercer students that we can attend if we want. They are first come first serve. I think my date for the class is August 13th. I hope this info. is helpful. I am SO excited to meet everyone!!! I haven't heard anything about financial aide yet. I've turned in all the forms and my advisor told me last week when I checked that they are working on our financial packages and we should start hearing something soon!!

Have you called or e-mailed your admissions advisor? Don't give up!! I have heard they sometimes send out letters through end of June. I hope to hear good news from you soon!

Hi, Lindsay!! I will be attending Mercer's nursing program in the fall too!! Congrats on your acceptance! I am also anxious to meet all my fellow classmates. I actually received an e-mail today that gave us 2 choices of orientation times. We can either attend orientation on July 19 or August 9. I think I will attend on July 19. I will finish those ini the next 2 weeks. I am also trying to tackle all of the forms and records they need this summer. I have already turned in my FAFSA form and my Mercer financial aid form. I had a 4.0 GPA and 88% on my TEAS. I'm taking abn. psych, stats, and speech now and should finish end of May. I plan on taking econ during the July minimester at Gwinnett Tech. Good luck to you! Where are you taking classes now?

I actually did not apply to GSU. I didn't have all the pre-reqs for their program. It's amazing how different the pre-reqs are for all the different programs. If I don't get in at Mercer, then I'll plug on and take more classes .

gsu11- Hi, I'm waiting for my acceptance letter from Mercer. Hopefully it wil arrive in the next few days. My admissions advisor there at Mercer e-mailed me 2 weeks ago and said they had just received my winter qtr. transcripts and would be moving forward with a decision. I have a 4.0 so hopefully that means I'll get in. I'm glad to hear you have been encouraged about the financial side of things. That is my only worry. People tell me that there is tons of money out there for nursing students. Congrats! Hope to be seeing you in the fall.

Je88 I have to take a political science this summer. I'm still waiting too!! I think they take about 130-140 a year. Maybe today will be the day, right? I'm anxious to get accepted so I can start working on the financial side of things. Good luck to you!

The mailman can't come quick enough each day! I am wondering if those of you that have already received your acceptance packet could tell me if lists an orientation date? I'm trying to plan my summer class schedule but don't want to have a conflict with orientation. Hopefully I will get to meet everyone soon!!

I'm pacing the floor too waiting on an acceptance letter from Mercer. I saw on a thread yesterday that someone got an acceptance letter Wednesday and they had only applied the week before. I applied several months ago too. My gpa is a 4.0 and my TEAS was a 87. I keep checking the mailbox every day waiting to see that IMPORTANT envelope!!!! Good luck to all who are waiting!!

GSU11, Just curious, have you finished all your pre-reqs? And do you mind sharing your TEAS and GPA? I have a 4.0 and my TEAS was a 87. I am taking my last few pre-reqs in Spring quarter at Gwinnett Tech. I've finished all the sciences thankfully. Just have to take speeck, statistics, and abnormal pysch. I know the $$ is high at Mercer but hopefully with financial aid and maybe a small student aid I can find a way if I'm accepted. Did they send you alot of information regarding cost and financial aid? I know GSU has a great program too.

I was told by the admission advisor at Mercer that we could still be accepted while taking the final prerequisites contingent upon doing well in those classes. Every day, I wonder if I will find a letter from Mercer in the mailbox. I want to find out if I'm in or not so I can start working on the financial aid side of things.

Hi, glad to hear that Mercer is already sending out acceptance letters. I sent in my application before Christmas. I took my TEAS on Feb. 12 and received a 88 score. My current GPA is a 4.0. I hope to hear from then soon. I'm wondering how to get all the financial aid worked out in time for Fall 2011. I know you mentioned that you have to let Mercer know by March if you want them to reserve you a spot. I guess once they notify a person of acceptance you only have a month to pay your reservation? So ready to just KNOW where I will be going!!
