I am so glad to see this thread! I have a BA (English and Education) and plan to start a hospital base nursing program in January. I had to take A&P 1&2, statistics, micro, and chemistry prior to starting the RN program. The program is 23 months and has over 1000 clinical hours. It's NCLEX pass rate is 100%. The program costs $10,000--which is much cheaper than the university and one of the reasons I'm going there. My question is "Will I be able to advance into management or teach nursing with my Rn + BA? " Thanks in advance for any info/advice you can pass my way!

Hi Cassie. Thanks for the info. I feel better actually hearing form someone who is currently in the program. I am excited that your first year is done--way to go! I don't know if there is much interaction between classes that started at different semesters, but I'll be looking for your name to say hello. I won't pester you with too many questions right now as I know you must be really busy and I've yet to be offically accepted(the counselor told me I would be when I met with her after the NET, but you never know). I've applied to Senatara's Nursing School and should be starting this January. I am interested in hearing from anyone who has gone through their RN program. It has been really difficult for me to pick a school. I'm leaning towards Sentara because I already have a BA from ODU(1993). At age 35, I don't have a lot of time for picking the wrong path to RN Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
