This year only the boys received a free sample of deodorant from P&G, the girls kit only contained the book and coupons for pads. Is this the same for everyone else? It doesn't seem fair!

How do you schedule lunch time for your self? I have tried to schedule a lunch time and have let the teachers know but that has not worked. Between noon medication visits and kids coming in because they were "hurt" on the playground I barely get 2 bites before another child is staring at me while I eat.

What class presentations do you do during the school year? I am a nurse for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. I have already done a germ/handwashing presentation for the 3rd grade and need ideas for the 4th and 5th graders. The last school nurse did not leave any information on what she did and I need to do class presentations as part of the new evaluation guidelines for teachers,(including school nurses).
  4. I have my BSN and I am currently working in a residential setting that includes school for youth with behavorial problems. How do I find out if that counts toward experience? It is confusing because if you are not certified you cant get hired but if you are getting school experience you cant sit for the exam??
  5. I would like to work as a school nurse but all the job postings state that you have to be certified. How do I get certified as a school nurse in MA? I am currently working in a residential behavorial treatment center for children from 8 - 18 years old.
  6. I need help with a nonmedical staff person that I work with. I work in an residential facility one for latency 8-12 yr olds and a seperate unit for adolescent 12-18. I have had problems with the med certified staff (not nurses) who pass the meds when I am not there. The lock on the med closet is sometimes not working so they leave the door unlocked or they forget to sign off the MAR on the meds they have given, this includes the control log for the control meds. I have asked frequently to have the lock fixed and have to remind the staff to sign off for all medications. Lately the Admin director has given me a hard time saying that I am complaining all the time and that I have an attitude. The other nurse and the doctors have no complaints but I dont know what to do about the admin director. I dont have to work directly with this person but I do have to go to meetings that he attends and he has made it clear how he feels. I was out for a week and when I returned he said that the lock on the med cuboard worked fine while I was gone. Pleas give me advice. I love my job but I am not sure I can deal with this person any longer.
