  1. I haven't gotten the letter in the mail yet. They called yesterday, Friday july 8th, and told me I had been accepted. I am going the NOVA kendall campus!
  2. Hey I got the scholarship! Anybody else?
  3. I just called the Scholars Program at Baptist and she said that they "are in the process of getting them mailed out and that we should recieve the letters by atleast Monday". =D good luck everyone
  4. ...You recieved your letter in the mail from the Baptist program on Tuesday? I am so sorry to hear that you didn't get the scholarship, just don't give up your goal of becoming a nurse. Stay positive and keep doing your best to get into the school that is right for you! I guess I will be sitting by my mailbox for most of today. Has anyone else heard anything from Baptist?
  5. No I haven't heard form them yet. They should be calling us next week letting us know when our interviews will be.
  6. Hey Shen06, do you have any advice for the interview?
  7. that makes two of us. Good luck! I will let you know as soon as I hear something
  8. Thanks Maggy0906, did you apply to the nursing program for spring or did you apply for the scholar program?
  9. This helps a ton! Thank you so much. So did you get the scholarship? I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
  10. My Baptist scholar interview is coming up soon....those of you who have sat through the interview already, DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE? Any information helps! How are the questions more or less? How long is the interview? Who did you get your letter of recommendations from? Thanks
  11. You have a great chance of getting in. I got in with a 3.5gpa and 84 TEAS.
  12. Cool thanks for the info. How many of the 400 will get accepted?
  13. whoa false alarm...
  14. I am currently volunteering at my local hospital. I am also applying to nursing schools to start in Fall of 2011. As a voltunteer you don't get to participate in any patient care but you definitely get to see the behind the scenes of a hospital from the kitchen to the recovery room. I work the giftshop, delivering food trays to patients, discharging paients, and working the front desk in the main lobby and surgical floor. It is certainly a rewarding experience in the sense that you get to be a big help and some hospitals give their volunteers some cool benefits. I love volunteering....I recommend it to anyone who'd like to give back to the community or just familiarize themselves with the hospital atmosphere. Plus, you get to a chance to meet a lot of nurses and doctors. So go volunteer!!!! I wish you the best of luck!
  15. Hey everybody! I also applied for Fall 2011 UCF Nursing bsn program. I have a 3.5 gpa and an 84 TEAS score. Staying positive and applying to multiple schools is imperative, especially if your scores look anything like mine lol. I've been accepted by FGCU nursing so far....waiting to hear from UCF. my application status.... Applied to 7 schools. 1 rejection. 1 acceptance.
  16. Ocoee08.....I hear a lot of stories about people getting burnt out or getting extreme anxiety in nursing school and even beyond graduation. It doesn't phase me because I am positive that I want to be a nurse. I've never wanted something so badly! lol but not everybody feels the same way. Its not a calling for everyone; some people pick nursing as their major for the job stability or $$. Just bc nursing may not feel like its your calling, doesn't mean you're going to be a bad nurse. Find out why you chose nursing as your major to begin with. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? what dreams do you hope to accomplish? If none of your goals involve nursing then maybe you should reconsider. honestly, I hope that you chose to go to nursing school. You've worked hard to get to this point, so maybe you should give it a try. If you're miserable at FGCU nursing, then major in something else. You never know, nursing may just be your thing! Im sure a huge percentage of current nurses started their careers feeling the same way that you do. Best of luck

  22. Hey I applied to FGCU too. When did the Fall 2010 applicants receive their acceptance letters last year? I'm anxious to find out if im in or not. I have a 3.5 science gpa and a 3.46 overall GPA and a 84 TEAS score. Any advice?
