  1. I don't think they give the lower points to North Lake. The people with the higher points get their first choice, whichever it may be. The lower points accepted get what's left, which could end up being where they wanted to be in the first place. My first choice was el centro, but I don't know if I got there because of my points or if that's where the spots were left. I hope that helps!
  2. I just got accepted to El Centro Spring 2012. The lowest they took was 14 this time.
  3. I have heard the same things about EC as well. I even had an instructor from another DCCCD campus tell me to try for Brookhaven instead. I have also met several people who have graduated from the EC program that have loved it and said they had a positive experience. I am truly sorry ETCO2 that you have not had a good experience and applaud you for sticking it out. You will be a great nurse and a stronger person because of that. Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. I am planning on sticking it out as well and learning all I can and being the best I can be at EC. I have taken one class there and did experience some harsh words and yelling when I came close to breaking sterile technique during a check off and while it was unpleasant, it just motivated me to do better. I wish you the best and thanks again. Keep us updated!
  4. Has anyone called to confirm that El Centro recieved the confirmation letter? I just had a flash of fear that mine was lost in the mail for some reason.
  5. You get 5 points if your gpa was between 3.6 and 4.0. I barely made that with a 3.6 because of a c in algebra.
  6. I got in at El Centro too!
  7. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so very happy for you!!!!! Hopefully we will all be joining you!!!
  8. I'm dying over here! Did you get anything?
  9. I'll go to either school as well, just as long as I go somewhere! Good luck everybody!
  10. We should know by late october. I think the website says oct. 15th but from what I've read on this site they have been late in the years past. I didn't apply anywhere else for spring.
  11. Yeah, that's what I figured. Mine is dated 4-20 so I thought it would be okay, I'm just nervous about it.
  12. Does anybody know the cut off date for the physical? I'm worried mine is too old. I know it has to be less than 9 months but what exact date would they cut off?
  13. I turned mine in yesterday too. Now for the long and nervracking wait.
  14. How many points did you have the first time you applied?
  15. I have another question if you guys don't mind. I've emailed and left messages for the advisors but haven't heard back yet (I'm sure they're swamped with questions!). The app says to include official score sheets for the HESI. Where do you get an official score sheet or do you just print them out from the evolve website? When I do that nothing says official on them. I'm just so nervous about messing something up on my app.
  16. They won't send out acceptance letters untill october for spring 2012 admission. I have been told 16 and up is a good score but I know it can change depending on the amount of applicants.
  17. Hello, Who here has applied or will apply to El Centro's ADN program for spring 2012 and if so, what are your points? I am about to turn in my application and I have 17 points.
  18. Thanks! I made a B in intro psyc. so I signed up to retake this summer 2 to get an a. That should bring my gpa up to get me another point for 17 total.
  19. I'm planning on applying to el centro for spring 2012. If I calculated correctly I will have 16 points. Do you guys think this would be a competitive score?
  20. Thanks! They didn't say anything about alternates going to orientation. Now I'm worried I lost my spot on the list because I didn't go. I just assumed they would have told us to go if we were supposed to.
  21. Has anyone been pulled off the alternate list yet?
  22. There's a calculator on the computer screen for you to use and they give you scratch paper. You'll do great! I was super nervous for nothing before I took it!
  23. The Hesi was really easy! The reading comp. and spelling/vocab was a no brainer. The main thing to study is ratios, percentages, decimals and fractions. There is a lot of conversions between those and also some straightforward multiplication and division. There is also some military time questions. I failed college algebra and I made a 94 on the math section, so if I can do it anybody can! I made a 98 total on the test.
  24. oh, and the bridge is a summer to catch up and then you join the adn program's second year.
  25. They don't accept a class for adn at tvcc in the spring, just lvn. I don't remember how long the program is for lvn, but if you go that way they have a bridge to adn that you could do. that just seems like the long and more expensive way to go but it's an option. El Centro and Brookhaven are accepting apps soon for the spring adn.
