Chest Drains - removing one at a time?
I work in CCU/ CVICU in Ga area, we have most of our chest tubes are combined tubes ( 2 tubes), combines with a Y adapter. The policy is 2 day post op from surgery as long as no air bubbles (lungs are intact), drainage less than 50- 100 cc in a 8 hr period. Prior to pulling the tubes make sure sutures are cut, clean area (bedadine tips)and place Vaseline gauze ( gives an occlusive dressing) around the tubes with 4/4 dressing and medaplex tape, have the patient take a breath and hold, remove tubes in one smooth motion. I recommend placing towel around tubes so not to make a mess on the patient.

anyone been to northside hosp atlanta for cpne?
Sheddydeal, Your CPNE is at Northside and Scottish Rite, are these new testing sites in Ga? I am a paramedic in Atlanta and I've not heard of these sites for testing. The hospitals are across the street from eachother and Scottish Rite is the Peds facility. Good luck with testing.

RN to BSN programs as EC student
Thank you for your response Tiffany, I will check back with WGU, that is the school that interested me the most, but was told they did't accept the science portion of Excelsior. Eric, I also looked into Excelsior which has a good program, but they want more gen classes than some of the other schools. Lunah, thank you, I have seen Chamberlain but have not researched to see if they will accepted the sciences.

Chronicity Practice Exam
The way I study is using TCN, I know allot of students have talked about them but I don't have any complaints. This test like all of them is challenging there is to much to study with EC. I use TCN look over about 2 weeks, then take 2nd pratice and refresh before taking the Exam. I test about 1 Exam a month. Since I'm a paramedic, I have to take 8 exams. So far I've finished 4 with 1 retest, that was the first one was not used to the way they test. I hope this helps and good luck with the test
