  1. Thanks for being so helpful r1kk1!
  2. I might need to take a look at your books too, Val. I'll be using my mom's from this last cycle, so I honestly hadn't even checked to see if any had changed. There were definitely some that she said she (and others) didn't even use and were pretty much a waste of money, but I can't recall which at the moment.
  3. I took it with Risinger and it was a cinch. He has lots of built in extra credit (10+ points) so it was really easy to make an A as long as you reviewed the info. I'd usually just go through the notes once before class. See everyone Friday! Oh...it's in room 215, not what it says on the paper. The office said they'd put up signs but just wanted to give you guys a heads up! :) I'll be the one with the really long blonde hair lol
  4. Anybody finish submitting all of their stuff yet? I still have some vaccine stuff to take care of and also CPR...
  5. Oh geez! I know a little bit how you felt that week, but I think receiving a rejection letter knowing you should have gotten in would have been much worse! I'm all for getting any help that is offered, so I'll probably be shooting you an email. So glad you got it worked out though! And thanks for your thoughts val...much appreciated :)
  6. Thanks! My patience was definitely tested this past week lol Met with ****** and dropped off my clinical preferences and the immunization stuff I have so far. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago I got my MMR booster after getting my first TB, not realizing that I'd have to wait another month to get my second TB since the MMR can react with it Oh well...I'll just put it in my calendar :) What was everyone's clinical pref order? Mine was Deaconess, Baptist, McBride, Southwest, and MWC.
  7. Just got off the phone and for sosome reason my letter was returned to sender... I got in, too!! So relieved :)
  8. The TEAS test is another application component they are going to incorporate, probably for next year's program. My mom had to take it while she was in the program because they are going to use the scores from her class as a baseline for future applicants. The students in this next year's program will probably have to take it as well, but it doesn't count towards your grade or anything. Still no letter, acceptance or rejection, for me I'm going to OCCC first thing Monday morning to hopefully get things figured out, but this has been the longest week ever for me. I wish there was some sort of receipt or something that they'd give you when you turn in the application. I'm just really worried they lost it or something... Just have to keep thinking that since I didn't get a rejection letter 'no news is good news' at this point. Just really nervous
  9. I was under the impression that they put the notice in your mailbox, but I guess that's a possibility. I think I called the right one, too. I was going to try to stalk my mailman today and ask him about it but I live in an apartment complex so it's difficult to see him coming lol.
  10. Yeah I'm pretty sure they send letters either way, so hopefully at this point no news is good news, but I just want to know a yes or no, too! I always feel like I'm that person that stuff like this happens to, so at least I'm not alone lol
  11. K charles I'm in the same boat as you. People on here obviously received letters on Saturday, and I also know of people that received rejection letters on the same day (in OKC and Edmond). I have a 3.2, while that's not as high as yours I know it's good enough for the 2.9 cutoff they used. Are you in Norman? Idk if it's an area thing, like the post office messed up or what. I'm trying to not get nervous but I really busted my butt this past year so it would suck for it to be a paperwork/lost app issue. So trying to not worry, but it's hard! Doesn't help that it's spring break and NO ONE is answering their phones/not in office. I even called my post office to see if they had a certified letter waiting for me to pick up, for if my postman forgot to leave a notice (happened to someone from the last program, got his letter 2 weeks late), but they said they didn't have anything. Please post if you hear anything! I'll do the same. At this point I just want to know!
  12. Congrats to everyone who made it so far! I worked all day and still haven't made it home, so if I have a notice waiting for me I won't be able to get it until Monday morning Totally jealous of those that were home :-p Hope you guys don't shun a spring chicken...I'm only 22 haha
  13. Hey guys! Tonight was the graduation for BADNAP class of 2011 and I was so proud to see my mom get her nursing pin :) I met the teachers and my mom said they're awesome. She was very stressed out this week with her last two tests, but everyone that made it to NP IV passed, so that was good! She said I should be getting my letter tomorrow! I have to leave at 9am and won't be home until 1130pm, so will hopefully have a notice waiting in my mail box and can go pick it up on Saturday morning (since it's certified mail). Oh, and she also said that they actually took everyone with a 2.9 and up. Orientation will be May 13th, my mom is going to be on the board. For those of you asking about working, I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I have a full time job right now, but I just graduated from OU in Dec, so I was just hoping for it to be a temporary thing while waiting to hear back if I got into the program. r1kk1: Most of the clinicals are Sat/Sun at 12 hours a pop, so working might not be feasible for you. It's a super demanding program...as the new grads were walking across the stage tonight, each had a little blurb they wrote being read, and the majority of them said something to the effect of going a little crazy, and the people closest to them putting up with them and helping to keep them sane, lol. In 2010 I took 58 hours of class to graduate and try and get into this program, but I don't even think that was preparation enough. Anywho, excited to hear back from everyone!
  14. Soooo I have a bit of news for everyone courtesy of my mom... Admissions told the nursing department that they accepted everyone that had a 3.0 and above!!!!! Also, they only accepted 50 people... I guess that they've seen how indicative gpa is in terms of success in the program so they cut it off at 3.0. They said letters will be sent out around spring break, so don't be expecting them super soon. (They will be sent via certified mail) I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief, and just keep my fingers crossed that none of my paperwork was messed up! Just need that letter in hand now :-) (BDot I'll talk more about my mom's experience when I'm not on my phone)
  15. No problem! I was reading through past threads on the subject and it seems like people started receiving their letters around the 5th of March, hopefully we'll find out in a similar time frame. So 2-3 weeks! Basically everyone who applied last year got accepted, so I'm not sure if the process was expidited because of that, but I'm going to start holding my breath each time I check the mail starting first week of March. Fingers crossed! And yes, I'll be sure to let you guys know as soon as I get my letter :)
