  1. At the end of the day, only you can decide if you are prepared for the test. For me it was more than the score. If I did not do well on a certain section, I would review it. That way I would be able to understand the content. You never know what will be on the test so it pays to be prepared, feel confident, and try your best. Being prepared is the important thing. What may work for you may not work for others. Only you know what you should do. Hope this helps!
  2. Hello! I used Kaplan Trainers. My scores ranged from 60-72%, I made sure that I read all of the rationales even if I got the question correct. I also would use Saunder's Book for topics that I needed to brush up on. I took the test and passed with 75 questions. I hope that this helps.
  3. Hi! I am going to Duke this Fall. When I applied I still had two pre-reqs to do. It is up to you when you should apply. You can still get accepted if you have pre-reqs to do. However, it is mandatory that you finish them before you start. Good luck!!
  4. I feel your pain. This does suck! At least we will have an update in a week or so.
  5. Hi! She told me that she cannot tell us the number of second rounders that were sent acceptances. I am currently number 13 on the waiting list. The only advice I can give you is to do what you think is best. You already have acceptances. If you wait, you may miss out on a sure acceptance. Whatever you decide to do I wish you good luck.
  6. I sent her an email. She told me that I was number 13. Hopefully this will be a lucky number for me. She told me that there is still a good chance of me getting accepted because there is a chance that people will decline admission in the second round. We will just have to wait and see.
  7. Congrats to Scout678 and Aspiretoinspire for your acceptances!!!
  8. Congrats on you and Nikki164 getting into Vandy!! We are the group known as the guinea pigs because they are experimenting the new admission rules on us.
  9. UNC is your knight in shining armor:)
  10. Whoa!! Ok thanks for letting me know because I had no idea that happened.
  11. It is horrible that we don't get any numbers or any more information than we actually do. It seems that the past fall cohorts did not have to go through any of this. I guess they are just trying to make sure that they don't admit too many people. How many did they have in the Spring??
  12. Thanks for calling her because I have probably emailed her enough lol.
  13. It came for me at 11:42 EST
  14. I am waitlisted too. I am trying to figure out if they sent any acceptances out. I also thought that we were going to get the rankings today if we were waitlisted.
  15. Hello Everyone! I just spoke to her. I wanted to keep all of my fellow second rounders updated. I asked her two questions: I asked her: "Is anything going to be sent out today? Will you all be able to send some acceptances out to second rounders?" She said that "We won't be sending anything today, but we should have them out on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Yes, we are definitely making offers to the second round." This is good news because that means that some of us will be getting an acceptance. A couple of days until we find out:rolleyes:
  16. Hi! I asked her about a couple of questions. The first question I asked her was: For each person that declines in the first round, his or her acceptance will be given to someone in the second round right? For instance when April 1st comes, if 16 people from the first round decline, will 16 acceptances be sent to people in the second round? the second question that I asked her: Do you think we will be notified on April 1st or April 5th? (or possibly before that). Her response to the first question was: We are currently monitoring the responses. We will likely pull the exact number that decline and offer admission in the second round, but it is an administrative decision, so they could decide to pull more or less. . Her response to the second question was: We are currently monitoring the responses. We will likely pull the exact number that decline and offer admission in the second round, but it is an administrative decision, so they could decide to pull more or less. I hope that this helps everyone! I am anxious to know and I hope that we find out earlier than April 5th:eek:
  17. When I saw the email, I was about to crap myself lol. That was great that they sent us a reminder to let us know that we were not forgotten. Maybe it is a sign that we might find out earlier than April 5th:lol2:
  18. There has not been any changes. So there are no updates:eek:
  19. Hi Queen Nurse Student! When they receive your transcripts, you should be able to login into the applyyourself website. The status of your applications as well as the transcripts are listed. I hope this helps. Good luck!
  20. Hi! I sent her an email asking if we would know our ranking by April 5th. She sent me an email that stated, "No, we aren't releasing rankings until we make offers in the second round and then have a waitlist. We would provide waitlist rankings." I also sent her a message asking if second rounders that were accepted could receive financial aid assistance such as scholarships. She told me, "Yes, you are still eligible for the financial aid assistance." I really hope that second rounders would get some assistance. Then again, it has me thinking that if the ones that were accepted won scholarships and decided to go to Duke, then there might not be any left for second rounders. Congrats on getting accepted to Columbia.
  21. She told me that this was the first year that they have done second rounds. In the previous years they have only had 200 applicants, 125-140 interviewed, 115 acceptances sent out and the rest is waitlisted. She said that the previous years they have gone through the waitlist. She said on Duke Days that they would send out only 80-85 acceptances. Then those that they were interested in were put in the second round. Hopefully this year will be like the previous years and we will be accepted:)
  22. Hi! This is the first time that they have had a second round because of the large number of applicants. The way that it has gone in the past was that Duke sent out acceptances and then put people on the waitlist. Then around April the 8th, the people on the waitlist found out if they were accepted or still on the waitlist. A Positive note was that the past two semesters everyone that was left on the waitlist was eventually given an acceptance notification. I hope that still holds true. I might ask her on Monday if we will know our second round rankings. I don't want to seem like I am emailing her every couple of days lol.
  23. She told me that second rounders that get accepted are still able to get financial aid assistance. However, I do not know if we would get the full assistance that we would be eligible for. I wish that we could know what number we are on the second round rankings.
  24. Traveling abroad would be great! Whatever you choose will be awesome. I have gone to different parts of Europe a couple of years ago (London, Paris, Rome, etc) It was a memorable experience.
  25. Hi! Can you tell me more information about the application process? I applied to Duke School of Nursing for Fall Semester. Since I am in the second round, I have to wait to find out if I am accepted. I am looking around at different nursing schools that I can attend just to have a backup plan. Any info would help. Thanks
