Ash: that is so nice of you to offer info! It is very much appreciated, as I am sure you know :). And now...for the questions! 1) Are there particular scrubs that we are supposed to wear? Just wondering if it would be worth it to start looking, or if we are to be given a uniform of sorts. Silly question, I know. 2) How many hours a week are clinicals, typically? Is 5 days a week the most that people do clinicals for? 3) thanks a ton!

heeeeello all! I just got accepted to the San Mateo cohort today :) I applied in late August, but didn't find out on the day everyone else found out. After a string of emails and calls, I found out that my application never made it to San Mateo! Everything worked out after contacting the very helpful director of admissions, but I would have LOVED to know earlier. Now, for planning! :)

Thanks! I have a feeling that today might just be the day... but who knows. I have been in contact with ----, and she has been very delightful and helpful in figuring this all out. I applied about a week before the Sep 1 deadline, and received confirmation emails from SM that they have my application and such. I have a feeling that something fell through the cracks seeing as I turned in 3 supplemental transcripts (from fall 2010 classes) and 1 cert of completion, although I have been assured that my app. is complete. Soooo we will see! Again, thanks you guys for the support. Not many people understand the competitive nature of nursing school, so I super appreciate it!

I have confirmed that SM has everything, including letters of rec and transcripts.... in addition to the ones that were in progress. Booooo

March 1, and I am still waiting on a decision for San Mateo. Big time . They have my application, and it is still "under review" in San Mateo. Am I the only one that doesn't know about their admission status?

thanks for the crossed fingers! I will take anything I can get :) In terms of ------...Well... I think I bugged her too much already, and don't wanna be too needy. I super need to know by tomorrow so I can be prepared to either submit my application or to hang on to 50 bucks. My plan: hang out there after work and if I don't hear, then I will submit the application. Ooooo gosh this has become way too complicated!

I have heard that too, but those are people on the waitlist... I don't even know if I will be on one But hey, I actually drove over there today and talked to a really nice admissions guy... He was very encouraging. He said that they are STILL accepting applications for the San Mateo campus, so all the spots can't be filed already (that is what I was afraid of!). And he confirmed that my application was still "under review". This, however, forces me to wonder if I will even find out by March 1! UGH! Or even worse...that someone that applies today will take my spot! jeesh! this needs to be over!

despite fear of being the only one not notified of acceptance, nor denial, I would like to inquire as to the existence of anyone else out there like me. I applied to the San Mateo cohort and have a TEAS score of 92, science GPA of 3.75, overall GPA of 3.72, and have volunteered in East Africa for kids with disabilities, and have volunteer experience at OCH. Soooo I feel qualified? Needless to say, I have been a wreck. Since people from the San Mateo campus have already been getting calls (ya, a week ago), I have prepared myself for the worst even though I was full of cautious confidence a week ago. Anyone having a similar experience? Has anyone received denial or waitlist calls or emails from san mateo yet? Thanks!

Hey all! First off, thank goodness someone started this thread! I have been having a near heart attack of excitement reading all these comments. I am waiting on the San Mateo decision, so when I see that SF and Oak decisions have already partially or entirely come out I get giddy with anxiety. All I have to say is, thank goodness I decided to get a smartphone. Ya know, or else I wouldn't leave the house computer for fear that I may miss the very moment that SM emails me something that is, hopefully, very welcomed to my inbox. How is everyone else dealing with the stress/anxiety? I feel as if I may be coming off as a quite dramatic, but this is nursing school. Haven't we all stayed up that extra hour to study for an exam and went to class sick with the reward of nursing school at the end of the hard fought tunnel? Isn't that all we obsess about when we get into a classroom full of nursing school hopefuls? And here we are, about to realize where all that work has gotten us. I think we all deserve a nice foot massage for completing years of specific prereq's in anticipation for this. Anyone have an idea on when San Mateo decisions will come out? I hope that it will be soon for all of our sakes...I mean, really... we have been living with this for 6 months! I am so very excited for all those people that have been accepted! You deserve it! And good luck with all your school planning. Now I will just have to live with the rush of adrenaline that I will undoubtedly rush my system when I see "Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2011" in the subject line of my email list. Alas, it will most likely be from "allnurses".
