  1. @Keane517 I get that you’re trying to help your daughter but I don’t believe she is ready to be a CRNA. I have a feeling the admission committee picked up on that. A high level of maturity, responsibility, and an ability to act independently is required to safely deliver anesthesia. CRNA school isn’t your typical graduate program and the average age of students these days is late 20s/early 30s. Most students have 3+ years of critical care experience. If your daughter truly wants to be a CRNA she needs to be the one seeking out these answers, not you.
  2. I applied a few days ago and just got all my transcripts in. Midwestern is definitely at the top of my short list of programs and I’d be incredibly excited to gain admittance.
  3. Hey guys, I'd like to upload a cover letter and I'm wondering if any of you have the contact information for the person who will be reading them. Otherwise I'm just going to go with the old standby "to whom it may concern". ; ) Thanks and good luck to everybody!
  4. Hey everybody! I've been lurking on this thread for awhile and decided it was high time I opened an account and introduced myself. ; ) I was accepted early decision into the ABSN program and am also from the San Francisco Bay Area. Seems like our entire class is going to be made up of Californians, lol! I'm 26 years old and have a BA in psychology as well as an EMT-B cert. Since graduation back in 2007, I've been working in mental health at a group home for schizophrenics as well as at a local hospital as an ED tech. I'm very excited to begin this new chapter of my life and I look forward to meeting you all soon. In regards to housing, my first choice is a small studio at The Standard. I was out in Baltimore back in October for the JHUSON open house and visited a few potential places. I was impressed with what The Standard had to offer, probably because for a luxury apartment studio out here in Cali I would be paying quite a bit more than the $920 a month they are asking. If anyone is interested in getting in there, I would encourage you to apply immediately as they have a waiting list even now. I haven't decided if I will be bringing my car or not yet. Seems like it would be an expense that could be avoided. Covered parking, at least at most apartment complexes, seems to run in the $100 a month range. Does anyone think it would be unwise to be without a car? Anyways, congrats to all who have been accepted! It's going to be a fun ride and I can't wait to start!
