If your coming up on your year of experience I would recommend applying to other programs first. I currently have close to the least amount of experience in the LEAP program but I applied to 5 other schools and and only interviewed for one PRIOR to applying for LEAP. LEAP is specifically meant for students that have some type of barrier to getting into a traditional program. Hope this helps.

Hello, the interviews were tough not going to lie, you have to interview with every director that is a part of the program so I had 4 slots of interviews set up for 15 mins each where I interviewed with 2-3 directors at a time total of 11 directors for this year although I believe there will be more next year. questions were similar to the types of questions they would ask for entrance into their CRNA program because this is the only time they will interview you. once you get in your in and they will choose your slot for the school you are going to based off of these initial interviews. (I still studied using the CCRN book, and the CSPA information) my admissions statement was just based on my journey, highlighted my diverse background in types of nursing I do, highlighted my barriers and how I overcame them. My GPA was overall a 3.4 (3.1 in ADN, 4.0 in BSN) and then a 3.6 science GPA. I had my CCRN, was on some committees and was a part of some leadership roles. In order to get into leap you have to have barriers such as grades and/or have applied to schools previously and been rejected. I applied to 5 schools prior to leap, interviewed for one and was waitlisted. this is how I qualified. My experience is divers I have mostly neuro and cardiac training but am now a traveler so I see a mixed bag of pts. I explained this and emphasized COVID patients as I have mostly taken care of covid graduating in 2020. hope this helps! Good luck on your journey :)

@Levoplease I feel the same way exactly. I did as well as I couldve so im hoping it was enough.

If I hadn't reviewed my meds so much I definitely would have gotten frazzled because they hit me hard with meds my first interview. But I felt prepared.

I did a lot better in this interview than my last so I'm feeling optimistic but I can't rest until I know. It's driving me crazy.

Yeah mine changed too! Maybe we will get some results tomorrow.

The waiting after the interview is the worst part for me. I hope so too.

Sorry I'm replying so late, but I felt pretty happy it was over too. I hate the waiting game now, but I'm also hoping it's not too long of a wait. I did appreciate that we got to get 11 schools interviews out of the way in one. I feel like I'll be much more prepared for any more interviews I have now in the future. @Levoplease they didn't, I asked and they said they are hoping within the next couple of weeks since the program begins June 1st.

@Levoplease emotional intelligence as well and both based on your experience as well as stuff any ICU nurse should know.

@Levoplease It's 4 different rooms 15 minutes per room so total of an hour and you see all 11 of the directors.
