@okeefel - hopeful thinking. When I called on the first of the month they said about two more weeks. We still have another week until we hit the 6-8 week from Frontier bound mark.

australian nursing
Hi Jennienurse, I am a U.S. community health nurse interested in doing similar work in Australia. Did you have any luck learning about opportunities? I'm still trying to figure out if the role of a community health nurse is similar in Australia. Any info you could pass on would be great.

American Nurse Seeking to Work in Australia
Hi, I am a US nurse just starting the AHPRA and visa process to got to Australia in the Fall and I have found this thread very helpful! I have worked as a nurse for two years now in public health and in mental health for a year before that. Most of my experience has been in a clinic and not a hospital setting. Can anyone tell me what it is like or public health nurses in Australia and what opportunities might be available? It seem to me that most nurses that have posted on this thread have been hospital focused, but any insight would be great.

need an OZ update! us rn seeking to flee country..
Thanks for the info, these qualifications are more than the immigration websites have lead me to believe. I might have to start looking into other fields of nursing. . . any suggestions? My husband and I are thinking of living in Victoria for 1-2 years, its looking like my prospects for working while I am there are grim, especially if I try to work in Melbourne. Anyone want to fill me in on the situation in Queensland(urban or regional)? Thanks in advance

need an OZ update! us rn seeking to flee country..
Thanks to everyone who has added to this link, I am a US nurse thinking about moving to Melbourne and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about Community or Public health nursing in Victoria. My husband is considering taking a job in this area and I am starting my research on what my job prospects would be. We would not move for another year, and I will have a couple of years experience in maternal child health at this point as a public health nurse. Any advice on how to start the job search would be much appreciated.
