  1. I know the nursing home up the road from the store i worked at. They had two certain cna's that took the patients to their appointments. That is all they did all day long. I so wanted that job. But now i am trying to get into the activities assistant thing. I lost my cna certification so i am not sure if i may to go back and get it. Most jobs i have looked at wanted you to be certified. now i know why.
  2. I don't think you can work below your education level. At least that is what i was told. So you may want to look into that.
  3. Sometimes it is hard to get a job at a hospital unless you have experience. If you do, good luck.
  4. I don't think you can do that. I do know that some schools allow you to do the lpn program and then you can go back to school and do what they call the bridge program and go back for rn.
  5. The only bad thing about going to community college. Even after you do all your pre-reqs. There is not a guarantee that you will get into the nursing program. So make sure you check all your options. And if you are not living with your parents and have filed your own taxes last year. The financial aide should be based on you, not your parents.
  6. Yes i agree. I am not a rn so i can't comment about pay scale. But if you want to get a good priced home that is centrally located. Where you could commute to raleigh or durham. Try a town called Creedmoor. It is convenient to raleigh and durham but still will give you what you need and it will be good for the kids.
  7. I wouldn't mind taking a class like that also. I am in north carolina. I don't know if we have anything like that.
  8. I failed on my first try also. All because of something stupid. the one i failed on was dressing on right sided weakness. I was thinking my right side instead of the patients right side. But then i want back and retook it and passed. I will not do nursing school but i am going to go take the med aide class and try and do that part-time. And i am going to take medical coding. It is going to be a busy year. But i am tired of talking and not doing.
  9. Yeah most people will say they can not get a job in a hospital until after working at a nursing home at least for a little while. Anyway good luck with whatever you get.
