  1. Wow, that last post was intensive! Anyway, I work at the "BIG" hospital in Tuscaloosa. The biggest difference in the hospitals is size. At Northport, they have a good OB/GYN, Psych, and Rehab area so if you are into that type of nursing, this would probably be the best place for you. The big hospital offers many other options for employment. There are 4 ICU's: Trauma/Surgical ICU, Open Heart ICU, Cardiac ICU, and MICU. There is a large Cath Lab, also. Of Course there is the many MEd/Surg floors. I would probably go to their webpage and check everything out. It is DCH Health Systems. Hope this helps and good luck!
  2. I had a hard time trying to remember all of the stuff to begin with, too. I got index cards and wrote all of the prefixes, suffixes, common terms, etc. on them. When I would get free time, I would pull them out and review. Eventually, I could recall most of them immediately. The ones I have problems with I still keep with me. Hope this helps!
