You know what I was just thinking.. is there anyone on here that is going to be going to the southshore campus? I have an extra brand new clinical calc book that I would be willing to sell for 20 bucks if anyone wants it. I would be willing to meet you at the southshoure campus. I am there on monday wednesday and thursday. Or I may be at your orientation one of the days at the ruskin campus

I am not positive of the name of the woman, but if you go in there she has short hair and glasses and if you just tell them you need help with clinical calculations they will know where to send you. That book is correct for the calculation book, if you can find it cheap now that is great, otherwise it is in the package when you buy it. Only do the first 8 chapters I believe it is, but you do not have to know the IV rates for this test. so dont' bother with that!

hmmm let me think... well as I sit here just studying my life away all I can think is get ready to be overwhelmed. It takes a lot of time to get everything done. I still never feel like I am caught up, but it is okay. I really am enjoying the program. I would definitly start studying up on the clinical calc stuff, because you will not feel like you have time when you start classes. There is so much material to cover each week, and there is not much time for that. If any of you are going to the Southshore campus there is a very nice lady in the student resource center that will help you with the clincal calc stuff. I suggest anyone who has time to go and meet with her. I had some friends that did go and see her when they didn't pass the test the first time and they say that everyone should sit with her to start with. They all pretty much got 100% after meeting with her! She makes it very easy! If you have your books early you can start reading, the only problem is each campus goes in different order with the chapters. We had our first two tests within the first 4 weeks of school, so other than starting to study I would say just enjoy yourselfs for a bit, because once it starts it is hard to find much time to do anything except study!!! Any questions anyone has feel free to ask, I don't mind answering if I know the answer!

Hello everyone, I am a NP1 student currently and can help clear up some of the confusion for you. Up until this fall semester the uniforms were the white bottoms and port wine tops. They changed it this fall to the other way around. The reason you are seeing two different uniforms is because they did not make all the NP2, 3 & 4 students buy all new uniforms. They had a choice of either keeping what they had used in previous semesters or getting the new ones. So you will have the port wine bottoms and white tops. Also concerning the books, the package that you will be pitched at the orientation will have pretty much all your books that you will be needing for all 4 semesters. There are some other books you will need, but not that many more. I think I spent about 600 on the package and have bought 3 or 400 more on supplemental books that we either need or I just find more helpful than the ones we must buy. I suggest getting a pharmacology book for nurses to use for all your drug assignments. There is a great website called abebooks.com where you can get older books for very cheap

Has anyone heard from their instructors on what to start reading at all? I have started looking into the clinical calculation stuff, but wondering about the potter and perry book

Has anyone heard any news yet about the appeals/degree audit. Just wondering since I recevied an email today about classes being dropped if we were on suspension.

I am pretty sure if you have already filled out the fafsfa paperwork, the only thing you have to do is go in there and if you don't qualify for grants, they will give you an application for a stafford loan. there are other papers you have to sign as well, but you can just do that in the financial aid office. I suggest if you do it though, get on it as soon as possible, because it can take forever. Be sure if you do apply you ask them about the promissary note, the "not pell eligible " paper work and your student acknowledment. That should be all the paperwork I believe

That is what I said to them, if you guys lost my loan application don't you think I should do another one, just in case it isn't found. It was all a mess, because I had originally gone to dale mabry to do my degree audit and turned in the application. I was told I need to start going to southshore because that is my home campus. So I went to Southshore yesterday and they basically told me that only dale mabry could help. It doesn't make sense, but now I know I am going to have to do another application which will just take more time.

Well went over to financial aid to try and get a defferment, that did not go well :-( they have still not processed the degree audit/appeal, so still showing on financial aid suspension,they have lost my loan application so don't even have that on file.So looks like I am going to have to pay for my classes up front :-(

I hate financial aid, every semester I worry about having to do a defferment, and it looks like it will be happening again

In regards to financial aid it all depends on when all the paperwork was submitted. I have had times where my loans were not disbursed until 2 months after school started. I am still freaking out a little because I havent' gotten my award letter, and I really don't want to go and get a defferement letter.

Are you not doing the Hepatitis B series? Just wondering, I have set up my appointment with my doc to get mine done the beginning of August, but not sure on the Hepatitis B series?

yes all students go to dale mabry for the orientation. I also have an odd question.. Student Services auditorium, that is in the student services building correct. Where financial aid and everything is right. I feel dumb for asking that. haha

I too was wondering on what else to bring and where it is... but I do know it actually starts at 8:30 not 9 on tuesday and wednesday.

I am not positive about the financial aid letters, I plan on heading over there after orientation next week to try and get a jump start on my fin. aid probabtion. IS EVERYONE GETTING EXCITED FOR ORIENTATION! I personally am not excited that I dont' have to go to work, yet have to get up an hour earlier so I can brave the tampa traffic. haha

well this makes me feel better.. I have so many transfer credits, I already had a bachelors degree. I guess I will go in next week on my day off and do the degree audit, because they told me I couldn't do that until I was registerd for the fall. I am the same way as you, especially with all the problems I have had with financial aid before!

Hi everyone!! getting close!! I was just wondering if any of you have noticed differences in your profile. Mine still shows applicant, and I am wondering when it will change to accepted. Also does anyone know when we become registered for the actual courses. I am beginning my yearly struggle with financial aid and have to perform a degree audit, but am not able to do that until it shows me registered for the fall.

I have not yet been there, but I have a friend who started there last semester and just loves it. She gets along with her professors great. I live in riverview, so itis so much closer than any of the other campuses. I am excited!!

Has anyone heard on alternate or appeals yet??? I feel like everyone has dropped off of here after hearing if they got in and I am now wondering what to do next? I have done my background check, but what is everyone else that knows they got in done? Have you got books, and if so what? What are your next steps?

haha just realized I was way late on the posting the GPA. My plan is to work a while and then get my bachelors degree. I already have a bachelors degree and would really like to start a family, so my plan is to work work work and then see where the road takes me. As far as who to take and not to take.. I took A&P 1 and 2 at the ybor campus with miletta and she was wonderful. Absolutly by no means easy, but loved her.
