How many times should I take NCLEx before I give up?
Noodlehead....OMG TY so very much. Seriously 150 out of 265 questions were prioritization questions. I was just talking to someone else who said they were getting ready to take NCLEx and I said, "Focus on prioritization and delegation." I'm taking ATI and they didn't have lessons on prioritization except a little chart in the leadership chapter. I will jump on that book you recommended. This a good little pick me up that I needed to get started in the right direction. Gracias

How many times should I take NCLEx before I give up?
First of all I wanted to Thank all you for your support. I appreciate the warm wishes and prayers you sent my way. Last Thursday I took the NCLEx in Pasadena Pearsonvue. 5 hours. 265 questions. I failed a 5th time. I was able to purchase a new NCLEx test through Pearsonvue and my name has not shown up on the Cal Board of Nursing online verification. If there is anything that I think I have learned from this testing experience, I'm REALLY good at taking tests. Its the passing part I still need to work on. :)

A Sure Fail?
:Be like most nurses and go self medicate yourself. Wine, beer, cocktail. Do it with some friends and maybe a movie. Wait until your results come out before you beat yourself up. :up Stay positive. A test doesn't define who you are.

It has been 4 years... not so sure anymore
Go look for this book at your local library. http://workbookfortestsuccess.com/ It is easy reading and will help you with working on some simple areas to practice with study tactics. You will still have difficulties with studying. But the more you practice, it will help develop a stronger plan for NCLEx prep. I take my 5th nclex next week. If I don't pass I'm just going to take it again. I graduated 2 years ago. I'm in the same boat as you. Create a plan, work on your focus, be disciplined but flexible, balance your priorities and get rest, accept you have weaknesses and realize so does every person so your not alone, be confident and have a positive attitude. We have our BSN. Now lets pass the NCLEx. Then we can move on to the next acronym called L.I.F.E.

retaking hurst: worth it or not?
If money is not an issue start with Barnes&Noble. But your local library, Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon and Facebook are other place to check out to. So many nursing students sale those things you don't really have to pay for new books.

retaking hurst: worth it or not?
I have taken both prep classes. Both have positive and negatives. Kaplan- Pro's Excellent questions, decision tree Con's 8 classes, two of which are spent testing, not teaching, 6 classes on topics, two are preparation; poor content, weak support, expensive, educators are skills are hit or miss. Hurst- Video's are awesome, content fantastic and presented in a memorable way(the Tennessee Accent), education materials a incorporated with the videos so your using all senses when studying(writing, listening and watching) Con's limited questions. I enjoyed Hurst. It is my style of learning. I would say things out loud to help remember the information from the videos. You can get a book of Kaplan question or try Saunders questions. When your looking for questions, make sure they have complete rationales. I wouldn't pay for Kaplans program. Just supplement Hurst questions with a NCLEx question book.

Pearson Vue Trick.... Really?!
You should wait for your Official results. My friend got the Pop up and fail the exam once she got her results. Go hang out with your friends and enjoy life. Get your mind of the test.

How many times should I take NCLEx before I give up?
I graduated from university two years and one month ago. Next Wednesday will be the 5th time taking the NCLEx. I have taken Kaplan twice. I did a private program called Sycamore Nurses NCLEx review, twice. Hurst review, Saunders 4th Edi and I'm reviewing through ATI right now. On maternal nursing my scores from test one 50% test two 46% and finished test three 41%. My confidence is shot. My grade point average in school was 3.69. I have my BSN. But I can't pass NCLEx. In fact, I'm on first name basis with the Pearsonvue people. I feel like I made the biggest mistake by attending nursing school. As of March 1st, I have been living out of my car. Today was the first time I ate at a homeless soup kitchen. 85% of my take home pay goes to school loans. You can find me studying in West LosAngeles libraries with the other homeless. But this isn't the lifestyle I was expecting. How many times should one take the NCLEx before you just give up? B~

Is anyone else having trouble finding work?
Have you had any luck in the last two months finding work?

Pearson VUE ATT
Each state determines how long their ATT is valid. Be careful about asking questions on forums because you will get multiple answers. Take a deep breath. Look up your own validity dates of your states ATT. Then plan accordingly. Bust you butt on test review. Work as hard as you can so you are prepped and ready to take it tomorrow, next week or next month.:) "The ATT contains the test authorization number, candidate identification number and an expiration date. Each ATT is valid for a period of time specified by the state board of nursing (varies from 60 days to 365 days; however, the average is 90 days). Once the board of nursing declares a candidate eligible to test and the ATT is issued, a candidate must test within the validity dates of their ATT. These validity dates cannot be extended for any reason."~Authorization to Test
