UMDNJ ABSN program Fall 2013
I applied to the Stratford campus, I live about 10 minutes from it so it's very convenient for me. I haven't heard much about about the merger

UMDNJ ABSN program Fall 2013
I actually haven't taken the course yet, I'm registered to take it next week. When I got the email requesting a copy of the certification, I called and spoke with someone from admissions who said I can fax it to them once I get the certification. She said they don't need it right now to make an admissions decision, but if I get accepted, I will have to provide a copy of it to enter the program. Hopefully I was given the right information from the person I spoke with.

I am also applying for the fall semester...I received an email yesterday from the school requesting a copy of my BLS certification, so I'm guessing that is confirmation that they have my application.

Advice for an unsure pre-nursing student
A couple years ago I started thinking about becoming a nurse. I have my Bachelors degree in Biology and work as a tech at a lab, but the pay sucks and I have no passion for it. In college, I always had though about med school but I didn't wanna be in school forever and owe a bunch of loans. Nursing would offer me the opportunity to be hands on with patients in the medical field, which is something I've always wanted. And of course, there's all the talk about the security and great pay nurses earn. So, over the past year I have been retaking some of my sciences because they are more than 5 years old and most schools I've looked at require A&P,micro, and chem to be taken within 5 years (I graduated in 2005). However, now I keep hearing about how it is so hard to find nursing jobs and it takes people up to a year to find a job. This terrifies me, to leave a job, which although not the greatest pay, is still a decent and secure job, to enter into something where I may graduate and be broke. I had credit card problems in college, which I'm done with now, and it took me awhile to get it all taken care of. The thought of being in debt again terrifies me. On the other hand, I don't wanna spend my life doing something I feel no passion for. Also, a little about me, I'm 30, live with my boyfriend, no kids. Any advice for me? Is there anybody who has been in a similar situation who can offer me encouragement or caution? Thanks.

Drexel University ACE Program Fall 2011 Start
To Success 3: I also applied after the deadline. Well, I got my application in by the oct. 15 deadline, but didn't get all of my transcripts in until the 10th of Nov. I haven't heard anything yet either. I contacted admissions and they said to allow at least 6 weeks for a response, or longer. I'm thinking that since I had some bad stuff early on in my education, that may be affecting their decision, and why it's taking awhile, because it seems some people got a quick response. Ugh, I wish I hadn't been young and stupid and messed up. But my last 60 credits I had much better grades. I also am taking prereqs this semester, so they may be waiting on those grades before they make a decision. Good luck to you.
