Switching jobs is it worth it?
Ok, the thing is .. I don't feel comfortable stating my pay per hr on the site. A few things I can tell u is the company is a magnet hospital, they offer bonuses /incentives throughout the year and what it sounds like they treat their employees with great respect and value them highly.. I have always wanted to work there but it does not seem like the pay out would be worth it. In addition they were offering a sign on bonus at one point which they did not offer me at they he the time but I am going to call and ask about it.. I can private message you with the numbers.

Switching jobs is it worth it?
I have been offered a job with slight increase in pay by only like 34 cents. I was offered a job at a hospital that I have always wanted to work at but now I am contemplating because their benefits for me aND my kids are double the amout I pay every two weeks and they have a deductible. I currently don't pay a deductible and the rates are lower. In addition the new company I want to work for offer bonuses throughout the year and incentives. . I calculated and I will be making less money and paying more for insurance due to having a deductible to meet. My question is should I take the offer or not in hate to decline a Job I am sure that looks terrible... I am so confused don't know what to do. .

Chamberlain College of Nursing loan ecsi loan
Hello my fellow nurses, I am a Chamberlain school of nursing alumni. I graduated 3 years ago and I was wondering did anyone ever have to take out the Chamberlain loan that is funded by ecsi? Unfortunately I had to take out this loan my last year or school because I did not have enough money to pay for school. I had been paying them but it seemed like my money was being eaten by interest. They threatened that if I did not pay off loan in 5 years that with a 480 month payment I would be penalized. They put a hold on my account to where I could not get transcripts etc... therefore I refinanced with a company that offered me a 5 percent in treat rate which is much better than 12 percent. I was wondering has anyone else had this issue and what did they do? Also this loan never showed up on my credit report which is weired it's making me wonder was this loan legit in the first place ..

At home position vs bedside
Thank you so much I really appreciate you taking the time to contact me back.. if you don't mind me asking what company do u work for and are the benefits affordable.. I work for the county and my benefits are great which is why I am so skeptical to leave but I don't want that holding me back from other oppurtinities.

At home position vs bedside
I have been a bedside telemetey/surgical imu at a local county hospital for almost 3 years now and I am to the point where I am ready to check out other oppurtunities for me as a nurse. I recently had a baby girl and she is now 3 months I had to return to work when she was only 2 months and it has been so hard for me to leave her ever since. My mother watches her but I work night shift so her having to keep her for 2 nights straigt is kind of hard on her. I am looking to work from home until she is at least 1 or 2 or if it works out as long as I can. Any how to the point does any one know of any at home Jon oppurtunities with good benefits like healthcare etc... I have 2 kids so this is a major factor.. and to where I can work from home? Thanks sorry for the long post

Anyone ever take the HESI CAT Exam?
Thank God!! Congrats:) that is so great! now you are an official RN. I pray I will be able to say the same soon. I graduate in 2 weeks and then I am going to allow myself at least 3-4 weeks to study. If you do not mind me asking what materials did you use to prepare for the NCLEX?

Anyone ever take the HESI CAT Exam?
I took the CAT exam today. Honestly I knew the test was not worth anything so I did bare minimum critical thinking. I am just so drained from all the excess testing my school requires. Any how I got a minimally acceptable grade as well and I got about 150 questions. I do not even understand how this even is scored. You will be fine don't allow this to drive you up a wall:) You will ACE the NCLEX.:) Blessings

New Chamberlain Campus in Houston
In response to RN2BE1DAY, Getting into their BSN program is not difficult, there are not any prerequisites required to start so it is a plus that you have some of them finished, because that means shorter time to complete the program. As long as you pass the HESI exam with an overall score of 75 and meet their gpa requirment it is basically like being pre-accepted. I have 2 weeks until school starts and I am getting more and more excited as the days are going by. Feel free to email me @ msward198&@yahoo.com. I am sure you will get into Chamberlain, and I know the cost is high but they have scholarships avaliable for students. :redpinkhe

New Chamberlain Campus in Houston
Ok, from what I understand Chamberlain is accredited and approved by the state. These are two things that I made sure of before I applied to the school.

New Chamberlain Campus in Houston
Thank you so much, even though the education is expensive and I am currently trying to find avaliable resources for my unmet need, I am stille excited about starting my nursing courses this summer. Also, I have a quick question for Jtodd2010, is this your first degree because I was wondering what type of financial aid was avaliable to you if you do not mind me asking.:redpinkhe

Looking into Nursing Program, Weighing my options
I got accepted into Chamberlain and I begin classes this summer. I also have a Bachelors degree which helped me out tremendously. The only bad thing is how expensive the school is. I do not want any more loans, so I have been applying to as many scholarships as I can, one of which is the Nursing Scholarship program which if you get it they will pay for your entire nursing education but you have to dedicate two years to a facility where there is a shortage of nurses. My advice to you would be to apply to BSN programs because I heard more hospitals want you to have a BSN now rather than a ADN. Even though they both are RN's, so I dont get the point.

New Chamberlain Campus in Houston
I just got accepted into Chamberlain College of Nursing and I am excited to start my classes this summer. Even though I do agree that it is fairly expensive, but I disagree with the fact that it is a for profit school. They have top notch equipment and the dean is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. I have also learned that they are a private school and this is why they are so expensive. I am so grateful that I finally got accepted because I was recently turned down by TWU for not having a chemistry lab, and I have a Bachelors and a B GPA. These schools are so competitive and I am glad I found CHAMBERLAIN:yeah:
