  1. in mn I started at $12/hr and now three years made $15/hr.
  2. Hi Everyone :) I am currently going to school for nursing. I have been a cna for 5 years and have only worked at one other facility besides the one I was recently hired at. My first CNA job was a very tough place but I grew to love my residents and their family members. I worked for that facility for 3 years. I quit their to be a stay at home mother and go to school. Now my daughter is one and a half and I wanted to make some extra money while going to school. I thought now would be a great opportunity to find a cna job until I graduate. I was hired immediatly by this facility and i gave them the days I cannot work due to my school schedule....well while I was in orientation the other day the lady gave me my perminent schedule and she has me scheduled for everyday I have school! I told her I could not work those days due to school and she asked me If their was anyway I could leave school early to get to work! Obviously the answer is NO! another thing that made me very mad was the fact that she wanted to get me orientated asap. Im talking 7 days in a row! She was only going to give me 5 days of orientation and than on to my routine schedule. I think that is a bit much. Im coming to realize that long term care just is not for me. I called tonight and left her a message thanking her for the opportunity but saying I was unable to start the job because it conflicts with my school schedule. Do you think I did the right thing? I hate when an employer offers you the moon and stars and than when your hired and at orientation she tells you how they really run their facility!
