  1. Did you check out the official Hesi A2 study guide??
  2. Thanks for your reply! That makes me feel better that you can take pre reqs online because I live about 40 minutes from Addison, so maybe I'll be able to keep a part time job until nursing classes start. I too am from a huge four year university, but I am only a freshmen this year. Can you tell me about the A2? I have not taken any anatomy courses so I'm kinda freaking out. Also, do you know anything about how often they reward scholarships? I had a 3.9 in high school, and in my first semester of college, I got a 3.92 GPA. Ik my FAFSA will be eligible. I just want to see if you have heard of anyone getting scholarships and what they're grades/other things looked like. I would have to work my butt off this summer if I can't get a scholarship. Thanks again!
  3. cubsfanatic! is there any way I could talk to you about Chamberlain at Addison? I am a prospective student currently attending a four year college. I want to apply for the Fall 2011, and I have many questions that the advisors haven't really helped answer. Would you be able to message me somehow? It would be greatly appreciated!
  4. Yes, I would also like to know ^. Are there students from the Addison campus that could tell us what Chamberlain is like? And if it is worth the money? I also want to go get a Master's degree as well from like UIC or SIU or even possibly Rush. Would attending Chamberlain affect that in any way? Also, I would like to know what the schedule is like. I know each session is like 8 weeks so do you have class everyday? How flexible is your schedule? Please help! Thanks :)
  5. thanks..this email address doesn't work though =[ i tried sending her a message.
  6. Also, do you guys know of any other alternatives to pay for nursing school besides FAFSA and private loans? I will try to apply for scholarships, but most of them I can't apply for until I've actually gotten in. (But does anybody know of some scholarships in IL or anywhere I could apply for ?) Have any of you had experience with the Nursing Scholarship Program through the HRSA ? But yeah any alternative programs that you guys have heard of to pay for nursing school?? that would be great!
  7. I think both of you have a great chance of getting in! I am going to apply for the fall 2011 semester. Right now, I have a 3.92 CGPA (i'm only in my second semester of college at a public university). I plan on taking the hesi exam over my break (march 14-18). Anybody know when I should apply for scholarships? My only worry is how I'm going to pay for college. Right now, private loans don't seem too likely. I got a ton of federal financial aid, but I think it might change on my FAFSA this year. Does anybody know if Chamberlain in Addison in IL does the MAP Grant (IL)? Also, does the financial aid office try to help you out a lot? I know Chamberlain has some kind of payment card (with interest?), but I believe you have to do a credit check for that. (My parents declared bankruptcy about 3 years ago so its hard for me to get a cosigner).
  8. Thanks for the reponses everyone! Any recommendation on how to study for the entrance exam? Also, I think I may go to Harper to get the gen-eds out of the way. I think he told me Bio 160+161 (A&P 1 and 2), Chem 100, Psych 101, Soc 101, Bio 130 (Micro) , Pscyh 228, Math 165, and some other classes would transfer over? Has anyone had trouble with Chamberlain getting classes from Harper? Do you think I should take classes at Harper for Spring and Summer semester and then apply for the fall semester for Chamberlain? I just don't want it to get more competitive if I decide to wait to apply for a semester. Also, my other choice is to go to Concordia University Wisconsin (which I just applied to for the spring semester). I think I have a good chance getting into their BSN program. The tuition is about the same as Chamberlain, but since its in Milwaukee, I would have to live out there which would cost me more money. Any recommendations? I like what Chamberlain has and that I would be able to save money while leaving at home. Any know where their clinicals are held? Thanks again!
  9. oh, and also, how good are they about giving financial aid and scholarships??
  10. hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me out. Righ now, I'm at a 4-year university (I was pre-vet), and I decided I want to do nursing. I am debating or not whether to apply to Chamberlain (I wish the application fee wasnt so much). In high school, I got a 27 on my ACT and about a 3.89~3.9 GPA. I am taking 12.5 credits right now at the university (I'm a freshmen , first semester), and I should get anywhere from a 3.6-4.0 depending on how I do on finals (wish me luck!). Should I apply for the summer semester or should I wait and take more classes at like a community college and apply for fall or even later? Do I have a chance to get in?? I talked to a really great advisor and he said that I would be a competitive applicant (I just wish I could hear, you would get in ! ). But I am worried that I'll take spring semester at a community college and not get into chamberlain and then end up screwed. Any advice here? Thanks!
