I talked to financial aid today and they told me all of the grants were given out before January. (No money left!) Im just going to suck it up and take out the big loan for this semester and hopefully get some aid for fall.

When I go to self service and click financial aid and select 2010-11 year nothing comes up, its just blank. Im going to call them tomorrow bc I havnt seen a breakdown of any loans or grants on USF Connect. I wrote down the pin and password for fafsa thank god.

Is there a packet I need to fill out... Im kind of confused by the financial aid stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I sent out an email to onestop today.

Hey Caileeg89! Do you still need a roommate? I applied for housing yesterday and would really like to live with a nursing student! The only available housing was Loyola Village, I picked double room. I did not want to live there bc it is outrageous expensive but really had no choice bc Im out of state and dont know anything about the area! Plus i really want to be close to campus! ( selling my car : ( ) Let me know if youre interested! Once you apply for housing you can select a roommate you know or pick a random one. Mine says 8 semesters too! Im going to talk to an advisor ASAP bc I wont have any classes to take next semester lol if this is the case! Im hoping for 6!

Thanks for that update!! I called today but didnt get any reliable news. I left a message to the transfer director earlier, but didnt get a call back. I guess they were annoyed by the volume of calls they received today about this b/c they were pretty short and rude with me over the phone. How could they be surprised? Anyway, I was assured again that not all of the letters are rejection letters, but my question is that if they know that, then why cant they just tell me over the phone if I was rejected? My days are starting to drag...

Me too. I need to say yes to another school by the 14th! but I would also like to go ahead and set my schedule and buy my books, so the sooner the better would be nice. I always said if I was accepted to USF I would go, but now Im not so sure. I literally have zero time to move if I need to and I also need to get my finances in order.

I know, I have that awful foreboding feeling. I think rejection emails would have been nicer.

I agree, so RIDICULOUS!!! I called them last week right b4 they closed...all they could tell me was "A decision has been made. and it may be being processed".... and that's alll they kept saying!!!! I begged them to just tell me if I was rejected so I could put the deposit down on my tuition to another school where I was accepted! But they wouldnt tell me anything so I gave up. They told me I would get a letter by Dec. 1, then they said b4 XMas, and now they are saying Jan. 1st....

Im sure that I will be stalking my mailbox on Monday. My mailman even knows what Im waiting on. I might die of impatience if the letter does not arrive Monday. seriously.

Yeah, I was really disappointed today when I didnt get anything in the mail. I thought for sure today would be it. Hope it's good news for you too. Are you out of state like me?

I havnt gotten a letter yet! I really hope mine isnt lost in the mail. When I called they said they had made a decision over a week ago! I really hope it's a YES! To wait this long for a no is just depressing! altho, if I get in I'm really wondering how I will scrape enough money together!

What are some extracurriculars you guys have done/do? I worked as a veterinary technician for a year, but I couldnt get in with a hospital with people anywhere lol I did get to draw blood and use autoclaves while I was a vet tech which I thought was cool but Im wondering how you get your foot in the door with a hospital...you know just in case this doesnt work out and USF turns me down!!!

I dont think it does because I submitted everything on September 17th and Im still waiting!!! Im trying to figure it out myself! I am just letting it go and hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised in a few days. I am only one year away from graduating with my biology degree right now and am wondering if they just dont know what to do with me bc I need so few classes at USF besides clinicals. I have a 3.7 gpa is that low for a USF application? Ive heard some really awesome things about USF! I got a little worried hearing from other posts about 8 semesters though... I was thinking 5 at the most! I dont know if I can afford 8! My rent is $250 a month in Texas! :heartbeat

It's sort of a relief knowing I'm not the only one having to wait so long. Did you already fulfill your prereqs? I have all of the core complete and am wondering if that is why I am a maybe right now. I only have clinicals left, basically. For the people who are already accepted, what is the deadline for the tuition to be sent?

So, I called admissions today and they told me some of us will not hear back until Christmas???????????!!!!!!!!!!! I am seriously annoyed....when i called in November they told me I would know by the first week in December!!!!!!!!!!!! Did anybody else get this answer? I gave them my ID number and they told me that my application was complete but still under review with a lot of other applications... she said "it's not a no." I applied on Sept. 7th so now Im wondering how many people apply to this school? Are there any other out of state applicants out there like me that are feeling completely overwhelmed by this????????

I also applied to University of Texas Arlington... I've already been accepted, but its nothing compared to what USF would be like. I really have my hopes up for USF even though it will be much cheaper to live here. I hope you get in! Let me know if it works out for you!
