  1. @ hubrn I commissioned May 23rd and I have yet to recieve official orders..my recruiter said it could be up to a couple months and if a couple weeks before I'm suposed to leave I haven't recieved orders for COT they will call up to processing and put a rush on it. Silly me I thought it was official when I swore in and signed the other 100 pages of stuff! Not being negative... just excited to get my ID card, uniforms and well the official official guarantee i'm going.
  2. Just wanted to give an update, I just commissioned Monday 23, 2011. It took just about two weeks from finger prints to commissioning and I could have probably done it the friday before if I would have called my recruiter and asked if everything came back ok. My recruiter informed me that the bonus is still a go just be patient and expect to wait 3 months or so after getting to my duty station. I was also informed that I would have to wait about 30 days from monday to be into the DEERS system and after that I should be good to go on getting my ID card and uniforms. August is coming fast and I'm getting more excited as the days pass on. -Christi
  3. Thanks perterrn for the quick response and congrats! w2cross2blue: Another set is due for your final FBI check and i did it about a week ago...hoping I hear something soon! I'm guessing there is not to much of a rush since we won't go to COT till August
  4. Glad to hear in w2cross2blue about August COT! I'm sorry you didn't get Travis So for all of us that are going to COT in August has anyone actually commissioned? For those that got May COT, how long did it take to get the final word and commission? My recruiter told me I should hear something within 10 days - 2 weeks from sending off my finger prints. I guess I'm still feeling like this isn't official yet till then so I'm anxious to get it done. -Christi
  5. Thats awesome Tee_byrd!!! I guess we will all be sweating our butts off together :) Babieblue: I'm from Virginia...I was a navy brat but thankfully only moved twice, South carolina and then Virginia when I was 7. I feel the same way!! My pup is my buddy and I can't live without him. I'll def be looking for a place with a yard. My dad is watching him while I'm at COT and while I find a place in CA...hopefully that won't take too long! So what part of S. Carolina are you from? we were stationed in Charelston...until the navy base closed. I'm thinking Cali will be nice tho...I wanna take up surfing! -Christi
  6. Hey babieblue2, I'll be in the ICU at Travis. PT in Alabama in August...can't wait to sweat my butt off and more!! The only thing my recruiter said about the bonus is that it is a one lump sum (- taxes) a couple months after I arrive at my first duty station...at least i'm hoping :) I'm defiently looking for some people to share off base housing...since I won't know anyone in CA and sharing rent will mean more money in my pocket :) Some info on me: I'm 26 single female with an adorable yellow lab...his name is Otis....i couldn't figure out how to do a profile on here. I've been an ICU nurse for 3 years in a Medical ICU. What department are you gonna be at at Travis? -Christi
  7. Hey everyone, I too was a Nov alternate that finally got a COT date a couple weeks ago..I took a day to decide if I wanted May or August and when I called my recruiter the next day all the May slots were full. Still totally stoked about August and got Travis AFB. It was my 2nd choice! All the paper work is done (bonus, signatures, finger prints) and I'm just waiting for the FBI to do the final check over. My recruiter said this last step is about 2 weeks then I can commission. Very excited for us all and I'll be working on my push-ups and running till COT. Anyone going to May or August commission yet? -Christi
  8. I was an alternate as of Nov 2010 and just two days ago recieved a COT date for may 31st 2011. Take a job and get experience...I'm an ICU nurse with 3 years exp just to give you an idea of my background.
