  1. Hi Ximena, do you mind if I ask to what 2 schools did you apply?
  2. I use to live in Tampa Bay area Florida and made as per diem pay $24/hr without any benefits. I moved to Portland, Oregon and make $48/hr pluse $5 extra for nights, all the benefits, and work medical/surgical floors. The best part is only 3-6 pts. per shift unlike Florida which was 7-11 patients...crazy! I have 18 yrs experience, med-surg, tele, ortho, PCU and neonatal ICU (don't do anymore). The west coast by far has the greatest pay, benefits and nurse-pt ratios.
  3. How is your ISU program going?
  4. Thank you for the info on Graceland. I check them out as well. They sound like they are supportive and I like that.
  5. I'm ready to run!! In process of applying right now. Just contacted the Dean of alma mater, St. Petersburg College (BSN). They are on board. Just finished my Goal Statement and now have to clean up my Resume, then submit all. USI, University of North Dakota and University of Missouri are my top three choices.
  6. Thank you for the info. I will check out their program. Have a great weekend. Cynthia
  7. I have a BSN and want to start an online FNP program for flexibility and would like to continue working at least part-time if not full-time. Do not mind traveling to school site once or twice a semester. I also want a program where the faculty is supportive and doesn't try to 'weed-out' the students. I have researched and narrowed down the list, i.e., University of Southern Indiana, St. Joseph's Univ. Maine, University of North Dakota, University of Missouri and University of Las Vegas. St. Joseph's is appealing since it can be self-paced but it is also costly, $600/cr. hour. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. :)
  8. Any updates on st josephs univ maine fnp program?
  9. I am really interested in University of Southern Indiana but can't start until Fall 2011, however, could start St Joseph's University Maine FNP in January but it's more than twice as expensive. Should I wait until fall and start at USI or just bite the bullet and start with St Joseph's? Any comments greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
