I personnally got my ADN many many years ago and started working at a local hospital. Back then the hospital paid 75% of the costs for me to go on for my BSN. So not only was i making money as a RN with a ADN degree, I was gaining experience as a new grad and getting my BSN paid for. It took me 3 years of taking classes on and off. i did get my BSN but sadly it has not done much for me in the means of getting me a better nursing job or more pay.

That's great to know more states do this. It's getting harder and harder to find cases in Ohio. They're changing how you bill and who manages cases. Plus there's too many nurses in Columbus. They're training aides to pass meds in home a well. Lot's of changes and cut backs in medicaid pay in Ohio too. MerryMary where are you in Ohio! I just found this site and think its wonderful. i have been doing PDN for 8 years now with 3 clients. Maybe if you are close to my area we can swap info. i have plenty of hours and where I live it does not appear to be saturated as of yet

I am a PDN in Ohio. i went online and did a basic search for insurance. I ended up with a Blue Shield. i have two kids and a husband who is out of work right now. It was pricey but one must do what one must do. I think most national insurance companies even in Florida will offer a competetive price, you just have to look hard to find it.

I am wondering if this RN was fired how is it improper for her and her husband to be sending your patient mail? If she is no longer employed in the capacity of a RN, how could this be looked at as unprofessional and stepping out of bounds ? Did she have a improper relationship while she was caring for him? Also I am wondering about the patients right to privacy. Or is he not coherant or incapacitated where someone makes these decisions for him? If this elderly relative and her husband are looking thru the garbage at his mail, why? you said the patient spoke up and was angry and told the nurses they should be tending to his medical needs only. I must agree. Why would nurses get involved in censoring his mail or his visitors? That should be a issue between this elderly relative and the relatives husband, and the patient himself. I worked three different homes and we have a communication book. It can be used in a court of law since it does contain the patients information in it. We also must show the patient anytime he or she wants to read it to them. However, family members must first obtain premission to read it from the patient. This all protects the patients right to privacy.
