Hello All, Sorry Ive been away for a while. I graduated June 18th from the AI Prince Tech school. I took my nclex and I passed. YEAH! Now for the hardest part, FINDING A JOB! Has anyone passed their boards and if so, how is the job hunting going?

Yes, I did read in the newspaper that the governor was closing down the adult education programs in the vocational schools. They would close the lpn program that starts in the fall of 2012. They are also taking some arts, sports, and even some librarians in those tech schools.

Hey YMBX, yes it is crunch time now so everything is becoming a little tough. I am at the Prince tech school and this week alone we have three exams, two which are the last bio exams. im just trying to get through the the bio because if you dont pass bio with a 75 or higher, you fail out the program. is it the same at your school?

Hello my fellow ct tech lpn student, I know I've been away for a while but we are on spring vacation this week so I have some free time. How is everything going for you guys? We (hartford) started our clinicals from March 15th. It is really good to get the hands on experiences. I am already a CNA, but I work in an assisted living. Where my clinical is, is totally a different environment than what I am used to. The type of residents are different, but I truely enjoy it.

Hi All, My first day was also long, but informative. Hope all is well with everyone. I'm still also waiting for my books to come in. I dont know what the problem is with the mail system but I ordered my books from the 6th of January and it was sent out on the 8th but it still has not reached here yet. I hope they come really soon otherwise I'm going to have to keep calling them up everyday until it gets here. TTYL.

I have not bought all my books yet either. Has anyone bought an International book to use during program? I see that they are much cheaper but I am a little scared to use them.Also, is anyone using an older edition of the books requested this time around? My teacher said that it was possible to use, but we had to use it at our own desgression. I also gave up my full time job to persue my dream, so I hope the change is worth it. My school, Prince Tech in hartford does not require us to wear scrub during theory, but we have to buy polo shirts with the school logo on it to wear to theory. On clinical days, I have to also wear the olive scrubs. I have not ordered that yet. I did not purchase the package set of books from the company they gave us. It was cheaper for the books, but with the shipping, it made it more expensive. I ordered my set from Amazon.com marketplace where there was a seller selling the items. He/she sold the set almost the same but with two items missing from the package. I said to my self that I would buy those items seperately on my own. The package was well worth it that way. Tee, maybe you can try it that way to get the items soon. I believe we need those books for the first week of school. Hope all is well for everyone. TTYL
